Re: ***Official Green Bay Packers Thread***
I generally agree with the idea that Randy would still be a cancer in just about any other situation than the one he's in. He'll look like the world's greatest teammate with NE because they're winning and he's getting the attention he wants and putting up numbers. He could be the best teammate in history indefinitely with that team if they kept winning. But if he were on a loser he'd be a bitch like he was with the Vikes. He is, in short, a child.
However, with GB, I think he would have had at least one good season as long as the team was in the playoff hunt because he wanted to stick it to the vikes and wanted to play in GB. With GB 9-1, thats not a worry. Without Moss, they're still one of a few teams in the NFC who can realistically set their expectations at getting to the Super Bowl, but most would say it'd be a miracle if they could beat NE in the Super Bowl. Now, put Randy on GB and they'd be favored over everyone including NE, IMO. If they get to the SB and lose (with, of course, Moss going crazy on them as he's always done) I dont think passing on Moss can be considered a good move.
All that's not to say that the GM should have forseen this and that passing on Randy was a mistake at the time, but I think I would disagree with declaring that passing on Moss was a good move.
