Re: ***Official Deer Creek 2023***

It's finally the year I hit Deer Creek!

You all didn't get The Dreaming Tree or The Stone last year, so this may also finally be my time

I still need both STTMB and SFTW. Could be a hard task if he only plays them in E1, but maybe he'll throw one of them in mid set like Here On Out a couple tours back.

I firmly believe this will happen one summer.

Closest we've come is Slip Slidin' Away after Bartender was played

Usually stay in downtown fishers (Have a hotel res confirmed currently) but have never actually been to downtown Indy. The distance doesn't bother me but it is less than ideal I suppose - it's similair to driving from the Chicago burbs to downtown.

Anyone ever stay downtown and go back and forth every night? Is it even worth it staying downtown? Anyone know of any bars, etc. that do shuttles?

It's my curse that I have never seen The Stone. I finally got Pig in '21, but still 0 Stones in going on 14 years of seeing the band.

Alpine couldn't do it, SPAC couldn't do it, let's see if Deer Creek can do it.

Just in the Buddy era alone we've had Stone every tour but last summer 2022 (3 years in a row, needed to take one off, right?)

Been going to Deer Creek since 2009. 11 tours - 6 Stones.

In that same period SPAC had 4 (1 of those was D&T), Alpine had 4

    All time

    Gorge - 16
    Creek - 13
    Hartford - 11
    Alpine - 10
    SPAC - 9
    WPB - 9
    Camden - 9
    Mansfield - 5
    Star Lake -4
    Madison Square Garden - 3
    John Paul Jones - 0

N0 is a lot of work for us campers but once everything is setup and you sit down and crack a beer with that sunset, fewer things are finer.

I'm curious to see how Deer Creek goes with the 3 nights in a row compared to Chicago which has a week break before it (Although they could fill it in with a one off, etc.)

I think Deer Creek will do it this year. I was surprised it DIDN'T last year and that's saying something considering how rare The Stone is these days. Always seems to show up at DC.

i wouldn't do that! there is construction going on at the downtown split (I70 N split) that you would need to take to go north. You would have to navigate thru downtown streets to get up to I70. There is also construction at the 465/69 interchange and traffic is a MF-er coming from the south because of that. Hope this helps.

The north split should be open by then. Projected for spring 2023 to be ready. Now the 465/69 issues will remain like always.

Yeah, I ended up not doing that. I'm pretty flexible so while it would have been a PITA, it wouldn't have bothered me.

Ended up using points to book the hotel I usually stay at. in Fishers.

There are definitely all of the things you mention back there. Just make sure you park in the lot that is near there or you will have to work your way to the front for parking when the concert is over (and against the flow of everyone heading for the back).

Discussed on the Summerfest thread, but you will indeed be missing out on the Saz's Sampler Platter

I wish I was more into camping, but I'm just one of 'those' who can't get into it. Now, glamping can be okay. I do truly dislike tents.

With that said, you are most likely correct about Summerfest. I live within walking distance to the grounds so it feels necessary, but I will not be holding my breath for an epic setlist or anything.

I plan to roll out of bed the day after and hit the road for a weekend at Deer Creek! I went in 2021 solo but hell, I'll do that again no problem.

I live in Joliet. I'm choosing Deer Creek over Northerly Island every time.

I literally just moved to J-Town last week ha

Leaning towards planning for DC and maybe ill catch Chicago N1 since I work in the city anyways.

DC has yet let me down so its always my preference.

I hear ya. The wife and I lived in Milwaukee for a few years and she still has a lot of family up that way, that was the main draw for us hitting it again this year. That and stopping back in at our favorite spots before the show. We’ll make other trips to Milwaukee this summer I’m sure, so we’re opting for a less stressful get up and get out and getting into Noblesville and taking in N0 to the full extent.

That and stopping back in at our favorite spots before the show. We’ll make other trips to Milwaukee this summer I’m sure, so we’re opting for a less stressful get up and get out and getting into Noblesville and taking in N0 to the full extent.
Oh nice! I've lived downtown Milwaukee for 7 years but am moving in March to live w/ my girlfriend who has a house in Wauwatosa. Plenty of good spots for you to stop at this summer, especially with festivals all summer long as you're aware. They brought back Bastille Days last year which is a fun one.

I just booked my Airbnb for downtown Indy so I can enjoy the city before the shows. I'll have to behave when the show starts haha!

It's been years since I have been in the PIT at DC, been there but in seats. Everytime I look at the pit it looks oversold and crowded. Anybody have recent experience in the Pit? I would be one to stand closer to the back and have the ability to get out and get a beer, hit the BR, etc.

It’s been a few years since I’ve been down there, but it can get crowded. My game plan is usually showing up an hour before show time and getting a decently close spot. First beer/ bathroom run when I come back I basically just find a comfortable spot to the back or side and enjoy from there.
