I'll really be feeling this tour if Dreaming Tree sticks around for more than one play.

Would also like to see Kill The King, Joyride, Good Good Time, and Hello Again return.

Buddy with some great backround vocals. Love what he adds.

Carter, Boyd and Rashawns vocals have never really done anything for me. Buddy is a fantastic singer.

I’m surprised Break Free gets as much love as it does around here. Especially when people are often times bashing Dave’s lyrical content. Honestly the lyrics are on par with Angel, and the song itself isn’t all that interesting. Be it the current jam or the previous jam at the end, that seems to be the only part anyone really talks about. So why does anyone really care about this song?

Because it’s rare and people are still chasing it. It’s not the worst song, but far from the best too.

I think the riff is very catchy to most people’s ears, although not anything difficult from a guitar standpoint, and the chorus is catchy. A good pop song that’s a little different than others he has written. I’ve always liked it, and it isn’t played often. I would take it over a good chunk of songs written after 06

i wouldn't mind hearing that, PFWYG, or stripped-down cry freedom on some friday night streams. i think coffin shines the most when there's less going on. less for him to compete with and he can play a little more relaxed/with the tune, not overpowering it/full throttling it

After listening to the Sirius recording, I have a bad feeling that it won't be back - at least not with anything resembling regularity. Not saying it was bad, but it was sloppy enough in places that I think they are more likely to abandon it than work out the kinks. There also didn't seem to be a huge response from the crowd. Hope I'm wrong, though.

Break Free isn't a lyrical masterpiece, but it's no Angel. It's a bit too repetitive, but other than that I think it's in classic, standard, "Dave-Sex-Song" territory.

I thought for not being played in so long it sounded great, not many kinks. I think if they took the time to rehearse such a long song surely it'll get played again at some point.

It's a pessimistic take for sure. I haven't really listened to modern versions of the song, so maybe I just don't care much for it as much with this iteration of the band.

"I drink your poison just to fill your cup" is about as equal to "you call my bluff on the cards of love"

Not arguing, but rather find it interesting how some songs sit better with fans than others even when they're not that great. I often look the other way when it comes to lyrics if the groove or music is good, but sometimes the lyrics stand out as being that bad and it's always perplexed me how no one ever dumps on this song. I was listening the other day and couldn't help but feel the song doesn't really go anywhere very interesting and the lyrics really stuck out as being pretty rough. Losing that section at the end really makes these things stand out.

I think the section at the end is the most unique part & is what makes it worth hearing, so I agree.

My feeling is most people liked the song for that section and are going to tire on the newer version very quickly. Doesn't feel like a good flow anymore into that slower jam. I'm not opposed to the more mellow jam, but at the end of what is really a lackluster song I'm ready for the next one by that point.

I just view it as a random fun song, mindless entertainment, maybe in my top 100. I'd never take it over their actual great music sitting on the shelf but it's a welcome change to other routine setlist filler.

I hear ya, TS. Just curious if people REALLY like this tune, or just happy to see something pop back into the sets. My feeling has been that of the 06 songs this one was the weakest of the bunch.

I enjoy the groove of Break Free. I'd gladly take it over You and Me, FTWII, Cornbread, ect. Change of pace and it's not a super long song. I view it in the same light as Sweet.

Personally, I was really big on the 2006-07 songs to begin with. So I'm always happy when Break Free or Shotgun or Idea of You comes back. Seen Break Free 3 times and it usually gets a decent crowd reaction. I think its probably because of the Fenway Park release that people know it a little more of the unreleased songs catalog.

Yeah, not a fan of the lyrics, but I actually love that song...such a great groove. And it's one of those tunes where the voice of the baritone really pops.

On a related note, I think there's plenty of room for Break Free AND ABC. As such, I wish they'd resurrect ABC and start messing with it live...Dave's demo melodies seem like something that might sound great with Buddy doing those falsetto lines with Dave sings in his regular voice.

Hopefully less repeats in the upcoming shows, although most of the repeats have been great songs. Still would like to see more variety.

You folks are great. We watched a bunch last year and the first two this year. We're going to chill on them though so we can have some surprises for our scheduled shows.

Super 1st world entitlement, I wish everyone would do their streams landscaped, but it's clear there's an issue for some folks.

Despite that douchi-ness on my part, it's a wonderful service.

On a side note I still find the lag time between the Couch Tour vs the Sirius XM streams to be weird. It's 3 minutes or more. Strange that folks can stream quicker from their phones than a business based on streaming audio...

Sometimes you have to bounce around if there are a few folks streaming, but you can usually find one with some nice audio.

What do you all think about the mix this year? I thought ‘21 was incredible and sounded most like DMB in years. Dave, Stefan, and Carter were really hot in the mix and it was a great sound. Tim, plus Buddy’s keys or strings were nicely balanced too. I was at Austin and it was pretty good but hard to judge bc the indoor sound is so much different. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like the mix can make or break the sound with this version of the band

I notice the same, sucks lol - I'd love to use the video from the stream along with the audio from Sirius.

But I think this is always true with any medium/event - such as listening to a hockey (i'm Canadian, eh) broadcast on the radio and watching on TV at the same time.

I suspect Sirius has strict rules regarding live, and requires the delay just in case something comes up they need to censor or whatnot (although, this is a DMB show haha - I guess they have no issue with a swear word or two (but then again, this is the same network that carries Howard Stern..) )

So far in '22 four different songs have occupied the E1 slot. In '21 the first four shows all had Windows played in the E1.

Dave is ad-libbing so much more than he has to this point in his career

On paper, he was about to repeat one, though. Luckily...common sense (?) prevailed.
