People will make shows they want to go to. Putting them on weekends makes it easier for the vast majority of people. Plus it gives the band more rest. It's a win win.

So instead of working full time for 3 months, your boss asks you to work part-time for 5 months and that's a win? I don't see how it's a win for the band and the crew. The additional tickets sold would not equal the additional amount of time you needed to pay the crew while out on the road.
