Sniper’s thinking it is not so far from my opinion.

BUT the Gorge exception is THE exception, and will be remembered for years. I mean, for me that is enough to make 2021 tour unique.

Not counting covers & new songs, the only songs that have been debuted this summer that have not ever been played with this lineup prior to this year are:

Aside from that, we've seen everything in 2018 & 2019 (+ 2 shows in 2020). This lineup has yet to tackle some "realistic" options like Pay For What You Get, Cry Freedom, Dreaming Tree, Shotgun, American Baby, Dive In, Alligator Pie, Broken Things and Snow Outside. And nobody is gonna complain if Busted Stuff, Kit Kat Jam, #34 or Crazy Easy return or they integrate a new Some Devil song full band.

They've also had a lot of one-offs and short lived songs that could make things more interesting if they were heavier in rotation: Spoon, Beach Ball, Help Myself, Belly Belly Nice, The Riff, Sleep to Dream Her, Rhyme & Reason, What You Are, Break Free, Dreamgirl, Black and Blue Bird, If I Had it All, Fool To Think, Halloween...and I'm sure many others

Rhyme and reason was really solid this year @ dte. Very cool jam toward the end. It was Carter’s highlight of the show.

That version of the song is phenomenal. One of the best jams they've played in the last five years. I hope Mercy doesn't become a song that only shows up in the D&T acoustic setting because Buddy's playing was amazing on that version of Mercy. That song has so much potential now that they have a real keys player in the band.

I agree that it’s a beautiful song. The problem (at least how I perceive it) is that it becomes a staple in a certain spot within the set and fans of this band appreciate spontaneity. Or, at least they think they do. Dmb can’t win.

I really enjoy Live At The Hollywood Bowl ‘18 release. I enjoy it more than LT53, a fall ‘98 show, that was released around the same time. The only reason I don’t listen to Hollywood Bowl ‘18 more is I’m paranoid I’ll scratch it. It’s currently out of print and challenging to find.

The music doesn't jam like the big 3. For example full band mercy was just as brutal as jimmy thing as they tried to create a quiet jam that failed.

If only is horrid live and doesn't translate well like the big 3 songs translate well live.

Gaucho if brought back would be cool for maybe 1 show and then get boring real quick.

BTCS and Crash and UTTAD songs don't have these issues when brought to the live stage.

Agree with you.. it never found its footing live .. even stand up did.. they transformed a turd of a song like LB or YMDT into classic DMB jams live.. AFTW has maybe 2 or 3 songs that are exciting live..

I love it too.. it’s a great representation of the band that year.. it’s a bit emotional at times.. and the sound quality is superb.. it’s a release that will be looked back on highly.. but when it came out people thought it was too standard of a set list.

I would suggest only playing burned copies plus rip the files to digital, CDs degrade naturally no matter what; albeit over time but the purchase is an investment.
