First time venue for me. Any tips on parking without premier? How long should I plan to get in?

If you're going to go for the full day and tailgate, it's not bad at all. If you're showing up 45 minutes before showtime, it can be a shit show. Especially on a friday as opposed to a saturday if you're coming from downtown - I waited in 3 hours of traffic one year on a friday because of early friday rush hour. Now - it shouldn't be as bad with more people working from home, but I would suggest probably getting out there early and just grilling and having a few beers and enjoying the day.

Getting out is a whole other story - either head for the hills during the encore and try to beat the rush, or just resign yourself to firing up the grill again and having a hamburger until things calm down. You're sitting either way - in your car or in a chair next to your car - you may as well sit whilst holding a hamburger.

2003 (I think) my buddy blew out his transmission on the off ramp on one of those highways onto whatever the main road to the venue is. We sat there with a cooler and food on the roadside for an hour+ after the car was towed, waiting for his friend to show up, looking like a couple idiots. It legit looked like we were on foot with just a cooler and stopped for a rest. Good times!

We always just figure on hanging out until things clear out. Usually end up having security tell us we have to leave.

Is I-79 S / 376 W a shitshow around 3:30 or so? We’re coming from Buffalo and I think it’ll have us taking that way

Thanks. We have a 3 1/2 hour drive so trying to figure out what time we'll need to leave. Sounds a lot like my experiences at Darien Lake. Getting out should be fun.

I'll say this - it's a friday - people leave downtown early on a friday - and that CAN backup - if it was a Wednesday show, I'd say you'd be fine - and you might be fine on friday also - it's so hard to gauge given the changes over the last year - for all i know, downtown is 30% capacity - I'm just throwing the warning out there - I left from downtown for a friday show at about 3:30-4 one year, and it took me 3 hours.

I'd let Waze be your shepherd.

Just resign yourself to sitting for a while. If you're anything like me, sitting in traffic is just stress inducing. Eating a hot dog relieves stress. Eat the hot dog.

thanks everyone for the advice, I guess it doesn’t matter too much since we’re leaving Buffalo around noon so we’ll have plenty of time. Just rather not sit in bumper-to-bumper traffic if we can help it!

Any restaurant recommendations within 5 miles or so of the venue?

Man - it's kinda the middle of nowhere. I'll defer to someone that might live closer to the venue than me, but to my knowledge, no, not really - not within 5 miles. If you're closer to Robinson (maybe 10 miles away), there's all kinds of options, from fast food (chipotle, chick fil A) to high end restaurants (Ditka's) to middle of the road good food /good beer options (Mad Mex, Industry Public House).

^ what he said. It’s in the middle of nowhere. Your best option is to tailgate.
Otherwise, you’ll be coming down 79. I’d stop in Cranberry or Robinson.
I haven’t been to Robinson in years, but Mad Amex & industry are both good.
My favorites for a quick bite in Cranberry is Aladdins or Il pizzaiolo in Warrendale.

Yeah - Cranberry is another good option. Plenty of places to eat there, but mostly chains (not an awful thing). Il Pizz is a good option for sure. BRGR or Burgatory if you want a burger, and there's also a Mad Mex up there. All three places have above the line beer options.

I'm planning on it. Less than a month away. I am seeing just this one show. DMB is absolutely going to catch fire at Star Lake. Planning on the best show of the year. Double encore n'at. Yinz get ready. People traveling to Pixburgh, welcome. We may appear tough on the outside but we're really not too bad. The city of bridges. The steel city. Home

Hi buddy! Was planning to sit out the tour this year. Couldn’t risk COVID with a little one at home. But a change of mandate is making me consider it! Curious if anyone needs a buddy/has a pair to sell?

If I'm reading this correctly, it sounds like I might have to make a copy of my vax card - phone picture won't work for Burgettstown:

    Quote:
The following information only applies to:

    Maroon 5 - Wednesday, August 25
Dave Matthews Band - Friday, August 27

Please note this performance is requiring all fans to provide PRINTED proof of a negative COVID-19 test within 48 hours of the event OR full vaccination for entry.

All fans must have received a negative COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before entry to the facility and provide printed proof of a negative result prior to entering the venue. Or, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (at least two weeks after final dose) and provide proof of vaccination - either the original vaccination card or a printed copy of the vaccination card.

Unvaccinated fans under 12 years of age will be required to take a COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before entry to the facility and will provide printed proof of negative result prior to entering the venue.

Unvaccinated fans over 12 years old with a valid medical restriction & medical note will be required to take a COVID-19 diagnostic test within 48-hours before entry to the facility, and will provide printed proof of negative result prior to entering the venue.

I read it that way as well--need to either bring the original or a tangible copy of it

if I'm a glass half full type, I think that this may speed things up in the line. you either have the piece of paper or you don't, immediately. no "I swear I have the pic right here, let me scroll through 3 months' worth of pictures so I can get to it."

Yeah - i honestly couldn't care less - I'll just go get a copy made, or maybe 10 copies made. So long as i know ahead of time.

I just hope they have a station to check this all afternoon - i don't want to have to go in an hour early just because of the bottleneck going on with checking this crap. I'd rather stroll over at 4pm with a beer and have them OK my shit and give me a wrist band.

This would be absolutely ideal---whether or not they do it this way, remains to be seen, but this is how they should do it.

There’s actually two hyatt hotels with “airport” in the name, are you staying at the hyatt regency or the hyatt place?

Regency will have slightly less traffic because you can take 576 to cut off about 9-10 miles of 22, which backs up at 376 but honestly not really again until closer to the venue (which you’re going to experience regardless of which hyatt you’re staying at).

It's so hard to judge right now - but if you're already out that way at the Hyatt, you'll take a big unknown out of the equation, i.e. friday traffic out of downtown heading toward Robinson Twp.

I haven't even confirmed when lots are opening - best guess is about 3-3:30 - I think heading out earlier is likely better.

I feel like last time, they didn’t open the lots until 4.
We were out there before 2. Went to the lot down the street first, until they came through to tow people. Then we drove in circles and went to the convenience store down the street for a bit.

Actually, I just looked. I sent someone a picture at 4:08 of our location in the parking lot - we had just gotten in.

That being said, if you look at Star Lakes Facebook page, they opened the lots at 2pm for Jason Aldean.

Either way, I’ll probably plan on leaving my house around noonish. Maybe closer to 1 if they announce a later time than 2pm.
