I mentioned that the neighborhood to the south of the stadium has a lot of expensive houses, and the area to the north (on the other side of the LIRR tracks) is a major thoroughfare loaded with shops and restaurants. Most places will be closed by 1 AM, but you absolutely will be able to get a nightcap after the show.

I did see Roger Daltrey perform all of Tommy here with an orchestra, but that was announced as a part of the tour. Would be dope if it happened though.


And for someone who asked about safety in the area, yes, it's extremely safe. Forrest Hills Stadium is in a very wealthy part of Queens. The houses in the area legit go for millions.

For the first timers, when you go up the stairwells into the bowl on show day, take note of the soundproofing that's been added. That was specifically to appease the rich neighbors and what makes it possible for the venue to be flexible with the 10pm curfew (before that went in, it was indeed RIGIDLY strict).

DUDE that soundproofing in the stairwells is WILD. So glad to hear they've loosened up on the 10pm curfew. Last show I saw there was Willie Nelson and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats in 2019 when it was still very much in effect.

My friends who work the ticket grind on the regular think this is potentially going to be just as bad as SPAC pavilion. I'm hoping they're wrong about that, but I already know I need at least three pairs (one for me, one for the parentals, one for a friend who asked about it same day as tour announcement), so this is the first time I'm ever putting in for premiums.

OK - both of these were on my list based on internet research - so TY for confirming

I'm sure there's a chance that there's better pizza in manhattan or the Bronx or whatever, but being an outsider, I'm probably not going to deal with that for one day. I'll just check out the neighborhood.

Station House still has its COVID-era outdoor shed up. I'm hoping it's still there in some way come June because the actual bar itself is a bit on the small side (if the McDonald's next door ever closed, they could take it over and fill it up no problem, IMO) and I expect it will be full by mid-afternoon on show day.

I'm honestly looking for AFTER the show - i saw it was open late - looking for somewhere to grab a bite and get some drinks - i didn't get a hotel - just going to the airport for an early morning flight. I know - it's asinine, but i'm making the most of my trip lol

probably because they sell out 2 nights at MSG (20k capacity) and this is closer than JB

You'll be fine after the show because it appears they're timing the show with a 10pm curfew and most places in the neighborhood will be open until at least midnight or 1am (and Station House is open until 2am on a normal Friday night).

Also it's a Friday instead of Tuesday, and it's more accessible than Jones Beach. And it's a cool new venue for DMB so more people might want to check it out.

again, I don't think that is enough reason to super worry, or risk getting the worst seats in the house thanks to WH.

I'd kinda look at it this way: Forest Hills is like MSG without the uppers, so it'll likely be a hard ticket to get.

But I agree with ya, SPAC is always a lottery ticket.

Potentially, along with Jones Beach and Holmdel still being on the tour the following month. There isn't any shortage of shows in the area this year for sure.

That said, part of me wants this to be a hot ticket so that it'll become a regular stop

While technically true, I've never really considered any place accessible by subway to be "out on the island".

I can't believe I made this mistake, but I forgot to pick a priority show. I planned the whole time to make this show my priority, and somehow it skipped my mind. According to the rules, a no-pick means your priority show is the first show you requested...and that's not this one.
