Best Jeff Coffin solo?
Was wondering what recordings people know of that showcase, in their opinion, Jeff's best solo with DMB.
I've always loved his solo on #41 at Mile High in '08.

This may sound dumb, but I like him on the Mercy outro. And the way he sounded on Stolen Away in the acoustic sets. It was a really mellow/jazzy sound - that's the sound I love about DMB.

a little while back someone posted this cool video clip of the band trading off solos during a song (cant remember which). there was a point where they wouldnt let jeff off the hook with his solo and pushed him to the point where they all laughed and he was visibly exhausted by the end.
anyone know what im talking about or have that clip?

Surprised no one has mentioned the Europe 09 41 (think it's the one from Italy). It's one of the first I heard and he goes insane, but at the same it's really lyrical unlike most cuz he hits a few licks and plays around with them. Absolutely amazing solo and #41 |

LT22 has a TON of jeff solos, especially soprano sax solos, and he sounds really good on pretty much every one. check that out if you haven't heard that release yet. i think the Busted Stuff from LT22 is one of his best solos he's had, even if it is short. the What Would You Say from Atlantic City with the trading off with Rashawn is fantastic as well.
