It's not possible for me to get somebody banned. They do it on their own.

Seriously though, what was the setlist? I'm not trolling you. I'm curious.

Re: Boyd Tinsley and The Way Back

Such a shame that all you "fans" are being such assholes to Boyd. The guys is a world class musician. These are not my words, but the words of Dave Matthews . Boyd is a top notch pop-violin player. That's a cold hard fact. His contribution to the band cannot be replaced. As an original member, he was on the bus, for better or worse, every single night. I understand that in the later years, he became distracted and did not focus all his energy on the band. Yes, that is a problem. But to discount him and to be so rude and juvenile about his situation is really embarrassing for this community.

Most of you have probably never been in a band. If you have, you probably have not been in a band who tours stadiums on an international level. The point is that it is very very challneging to remain engaged and committed year, after year, afyter year. Please rememebr that DMB is the highest grossing tour act every year they tour, since 2001. That means they tour....A LOT. They had upds and downs. DO you guys rememebr when the band nearly crumbled in the late 90s'/early 2000? There was the whol;e Lillywhite debacle where the band turned on Dave and said they didn't like the new material. The label fired Lillywhite and forced Gred Ballard on Dave. The two of them wrote the god awful "Everyday" album in 9 days (and it showed). Dave released his solo album soon after and nearly left the band. Thank goodness he didn't. The point is that all bands have ups and downs and this is not the first up or down for DMB.

The band CLEARLY suffers without him. Many of the classic songs that long term fans supported, which allowed them to become this derivative crap pop band of 2019, are un-listenable. The namesake of this website is un-listenable without Boyd. The new songs the Dave and TIm are writing are very hit and miss. The new about is proof of that. There isn't as much depth without Boyd and it shows. Even the live shows suffer as Boyd's presence on stage was so energetic and captivating.

I am in the minority, but I will be Boyd-cotting the band until he returns. I hold out hope that he will come back, or I think they would have replaced him. He is a quintessential member and the sound sufferers without him.

And they’re far from the top grossing act every year they tour. Last year that was Ed Sheeran, with $429M. DMB regularly makes about $1M per show, or ~$50M per year.

Taylor grossed $266M in only 38 shows.

DMB does well for themselves, but they’re not at that level and likely ever will be.

Probably still much much lower than Taylor/Ed. DMB’s average ticket price in 2000 was (even currently with those bullshit premium tix inflating prices) a lot lower than what the big pop acts are charging currently. Adjusted for inflation you may get kinda close but Taylor’s tour broke the record previously set by the fucking Rolling Stones, so, there’s some heavy hitters at the top.

Edit: for the period 2000-2009, when DMB was the highest grossing act, they only grossed $530M. Ed did $100m less in 10% of the time.

yea i figured it wouldn't be T-swizzle money but was just curious

they probably could've retired after that tour and lived comfortably off those earnings
