Dave Matthews Band to Launch Limited-Run SiriusXM Channel

So, I apologize for not trolling 94 pages of this thread before asking this, but...

listening to the station earlier today, they played a studio cut of "Sweet." Only this one was only Dave and a uke. It seemed like his exact parts from the AFTW cut, but there were o other instruments. Does this kind of alternate mix show up a lot on the Sirius channel?

I don't know for certain as I did not hear the version you are talking about but my guess is that it is this version (which was broadcast on Sirius live and is likely why they are replaying it from time to time): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3mPLleDKFbI

That was my first thought, but the vocals didn't have the same room reverb. The halftime outro sounded exactly like the uke/vox mix from the AFTW mix minus the rest of the band. All of the little live idiosyncrasies that are present in that video weren't there. I know Sirius slips in random alternate mixes without warning or attention, they've done it with Prince material.

It also could be the version he played solo at the SiriusXM “live at the Garage” thing last year.

Yes but I wonder if the re-runs have been re-mixed at all... it seemed like Camden had been re-done compared to the original mix from last year.

question: Do you think SiriusXM brought back the DMB Channel with the anticipation of a fresh 2020 Summer Tour (and hence all new Friday night live broadcasts)? I bet that they noticed the listener count spikes on Friday nights and perhaps the Saturday right after... Now with the tour cancelled will they pull the plug on the channel sooner?

Not necessarily... some of the original mixes that were aired weren't that great.

Channel 176 is an MLB play-by-play channel. They might have intended eventually to bring the station back somewhere else later in the year but based on where it is now they probably only put it back now to fill an empty spot.

After 3 weeks of heavy repeats I am pretty excited for the drive in concert thing the band is promoting themselves. Which makes it even weirder to do that at the same time as the SXM channel.

Has anyone else's radio been glitching a lot? As in randomly skipping to places for maybe 10 seconds and then returning to normal?
It happened to me during Warehouse, as in the entire song just restarted. It might just be me but I wanted to know if anyone else is having the same problem.

The mixes really were all over the place. San Fran sounds like a modern Live Trax while Hartford is substantially worse than the tape.

Agreed. Hopefully there is another rebroadcast of the Hartford show without Ari talking and better sound

San Fran and state line had good mixes. Mohegan sun too.

Gorge is a little boomy. Alpine was pretty solid. Those 5 to me were the best mixed of the bunch and generally better performance wise.

Agreed, out of the streamed shows (on youtube or XM) SF was the best performance of the year.
