Nice show. Lots of drop outs of Boyd, were those related to him being off that night and/or technical issues? Is this where Timmy started get too loud or again was this just related to this show (or the mix thereof)? I was noticing that I like Rashawn more on some of these older shows than I do now, and I'm a fan of the trumpet and enjoy it within DMB (albeit completely superfluous). He's a great player, but he seems to have fallen into more rote playing these past coupla tours.
It was cool to see the transition to Rockbridge, but still having a relying on the Taylors. Must have been a sharp bridge saddle cutting into the D-strings that popped twice. Seeing his older #1 Rockbridge in pristine condition was kinda cool.

I was wondering if i was the only one to notice boyd's solos being cut. And I think this is a fairly big deal. And surprised nobody has talked about it. I could be very wrong though.
The two cuts I have seen so far are during seek up (although it's not too flagrant) and a more obvious one during his TBillies solo. The TB cut was because boyd was off, the band transitioned and boyd kept soloing. I think this happened twice live, but they only edited once.
Twice he kept playing while the band tried to retreat. You see the first time Dave is heading to stefan during the violin solo (i am sure non-verbal communication saying, "violin solo over, transition out of it") but then Dave turns back around pretty quickly and you actually see him laughing as he and the band continue to appease boyd.
Then, it happens again but this is when he is simply edited out. They literally fade the violin out of the sound. It would be interesting to listen to the live tape to hear what it sounded like live and know whether or not the sounds guys were in on this as well. Whether or not fenton cut him out live. You wonder if they had some type of communication or sign to be able to do that. Anyhow, eventually, and very slowly, ever so slightly fade it back in later. So it is a combination of not sounding good whatsoever as well as boyd not playing with the band.
You also see it as the band is getting ready for the transition back into the chorus, you see Boyd come to a complete stop and he walks away back to his corner a good 15 seconds before they transition back to the chorus. The transition highlight is generally boyd's violin. But he walks away. To me, this whole episode during TBillies, and how boyd just walks away during his no. 1 solo of the entire show, it tells me that there was some serious tension in the band at this time. And was probably a big factor as to why they took a "break." And if that is the case, its clear it is beausse of boyd. Either he is pulling his friends tails on purpose, live on stage, by over playing, or he is just way off musically and doesn't understand when he should and should not be playing. His walks off and Dave's laugh tells the story here. We all see what has happened to boyd since this. And it looks like Dave took control probably at the very last minute before this stuff started seeping out and becoming more public. Which again plays in Dave's favor as he has stated that he is loyal to a fault.
