    Annual Warehouse Package

Lmao at this version of DYR. It’s like the whole band is coked out with how fast they’re playing it. Yeesh…

Kinda wild that Ants let’s people use their private message feature to share official recordings like that. Basically condoning it.

Nothing wrong with messaging the files to people who are warehouse members anyway. They'll just get it a little sooner.

I do wish that the Warehouse gave us the ability to renew early to get access to it. There would be some logistics to work out with that though, because if you renew early, you shouldn't be charged the full $35. They'd have to work out prorated rates or something.

And by the way, I think posting the files publicly or to YouTube is wrong. But private messaging the warehouse disc is the 2023 equivalent of lending a CD to your friend they want and ripping it to their computer. That happened a ton in the 90s and early 2000s.

Thought you were exaggerating at first, but oh boy. It sounds like when I speed an audiobook up to like 1.5x speed. Not to mention Dave doing a toned down wail-sing at me. Just not an ideal performance in any way.

It's a lot faster than the studio version, but they always play DYR at that pace live.

This would be ideal. I agree though, if they're not Warehouse members I'd encourage them to do that before sending the files early.

Confusing choices across the board on this release. I heard better versions of SDL, #41, So Right, DYR, Break Free, and Break For It in 2022 than what's on this.

Yes. But the audio quality is stunning. I suppose Alagia worked on this. Flawless

They def did not play it sped up like this back in 2018. Not sure about 2019 to present though as I don’t really seek out live versions of it…

When am I supposed to be able able to access this? My brother's account is on a February renewal cycle and he renewed this morning - he doesn't have access. All the my info page takes him to when you click the warehouse package image is this splash page (which is for 2022):

    https://whsec1.davematthewsband.com/memberDL2022.asp

Is there an equivalent link for 2023?

Well I need to give this a better listen apparently. My first quick scan through it didn't sound great to my ears.

100%. This isn't like an unreleased album that we all just share with no issues like the Batson Sessions or Lillywhites. Somehow that is ok, but asking for some official live recordings that tapes already exist of is stealing?

Your brother won't have access until next month. It's available the month after you renew. Those of us downloading it now renewed in January.

MP3. Is there an audible difference between 320kbps and Flac? I consider myself a pretty big audio quality person, not a true audiophile, but can never tell a difference.

What platform do you use to listen to FLAC? I just keep all my DMB, official releases and tapes, on Apple Music these days.

I can easily tell a difference, especially when listening in the car.

I use an app called VOX to do it. You have to load the files to Google Drive then onto VOX from there. Bit of a chore, but, liking the audio quality better, its worth it for me.

FLAC quality is ESPECIALLY true with taper pulls for shows.

I really like the 2010 Break For Its but Buddy adds a lot to the song on this recording. Love the slow outro too.

So the WH disc is as lackluster as you could imagine from the track list. The obvious highlights are Break Free and Break For It (though there were better performances of both from other venues this summer). Samurai Cop is a rather good performance. And I suppose if you like Do You Remember kicking it up a few notches and speeding through or are obsessed with Gilford, NH...then sure.

My favorite moment of the whole disc might be the absolutely indifferent/uneventful reaction from the crowd at Pine Knob to Louisiana Bayou starting up

So Damn Lucky has a similar crowd reaction, like an underwhelming "oh, that song, yay?"...

I agree. Not saying I am dying to hear it at a show or I think this is the way it should always be played but if I am getting a version of DYR in a WH release don't I want it to be somewhat unique?

I'm not sure. I tried searching around. Looks like it didn't a few years ago and many people were requesting it. But I can't find whether they ever added it or not, the most recent thing I found was from 2018.

I believe the VLC app plays FLAC as well. Not sure about SHN, but VLC might be an easier undertaking than other apps.
