Yup and according to the iPhone owners that I know, the screen had a tendency to break if you breathe on it the wrong way. And i'm pretty sure you can't Swype one...not sure what I would do without that feature. I sure as couldn't post this from my phone like I just did

yep you can't get away from the stock keyboard unless you jailbreak it. I love Swype, and since I convinced my girlfriend to get her Android (the Bionic) she's become a pro at it

Check out the Asus Transformer Prime. I have the original Transformer and it's great.

you get the maxx? battery life is sick. I downloaded 120 apps, and played internet radio for 7 hours straight and only used 20% battery life from 9am when i took it off charger until about 7pm the same night. This is with a live wallpaper and automatic brightness all the way up.

I need an accurate weather app/widget; I've tried the default Weather Channel app, WeatherBug, Accuweather, etc.

None of them seem to really be accurate. I've got my location set correctly - I'll get up in the morning and it'll read 61 with an eventual 68 in the afternoon. I get outside and it's freaking 70 and eventually gets up to 82. All of them seem to be like this for me. What do you guys use?

Maybe you're internal temperature gauge needs to be calibrated?

I use the Fancy Widget (before HTC told them to take it down). Have you checked your update frequencies? Sometimes programs have it set to like update every hour, etc.

I mean when I'm in a rush to get dressed for work, it's easier to just know how to dress rather than go outside, come back, pick clothes. Especially given the fact that it can get much colder/hotter throughout the day, or it can rain, etc.

Yeah, even when I manually update it, it's off. I'll give WeatherBug another try, I've heard decent reviews.

Fancy Widget is still the best weather/clock app I've found. Google it, because the app was actually pulled from the market (the HTC look-alike that is). If you can't find it, I'll up it later.

So I have a galaxy nexus and today it started this bullshit where it says "Launcher Not Responding" and will not let me do anything on my phone at all. Anyone else have this problem? I've only had this phone just over a month. It pisses me off we spend all this money for this shit and they can't work right.

My phone was doing something similar last week...I just turned it off, popped out the SD card and put it back in and it's been fine ever since....worth a try maybe?

I ended up getting into my settings and clearing all data which worked but of course everythings all reset now..

Verizon told me earlier they were gonna overnight me a new one so fuck it I'll take that sure.

The guy at the store was like "even if we did reset it and it worked..it'll never work the same"

I was like uhh ok sure give me a new one haha. I have to send back my old one though. So here's my questions (granted I don't know much about phones):

For my new phone, the guy said just plug my old SD card in the back. Now will doing that give me all my contacts and apps I've downloaded? Or will I have to download all that again?

Also, if I do keep the new phone and send in the old one..is there a chance they look at the old one and think its ok (since I did just fix it) and charge me for the new one?

don't quote me on any of this but I'm pretty sure.....

if you saved your contacts to the card then yes, i think they should transfer...apparently I didn't save them all properly and lost some when I switched it over (i spilled milk on my phone and it got all glitchy and stopped working properly). Your apps you will have to download all over again unless you move them over to the card.

Don't think they'll even check it or care...they're just going to refurbish it and sell it again anyway. When they sent mine they sent it with a brand new 16 gig card in it already...keep that one and the one from your old phone too

I'm pretty bad when it comes to phones to if I were you I might take it to a Verizon store and just ask them to switch it over to make sure you don't loose anything you could have otherwise saved if done properly like maybe any paid apps or whatever.

I can't seem to figure out how to move my apps over to card. for all I know they automatically go over when I download em.

You have Nexus? it doesn't have an sd card? Contacts will be backed up with gmail and backup assistant. Apps you will have to re download but not repay for purchased apps.

No the only way they will charge you for the old one is if the get it back and its physically damaged...if they get the phone and don't find a problem with it its not on you.

I can give you my list that, after having Android for over a year and a half, I've narrowed down to the essentials, having gotten rid of all the apps and games I only used for a couple weeks/months.

I only have this because the on/off/lock button on top of my phone broke, but it's actually a bit handier than the way you'd normally do it (power button and volume up)

RemoteDroid - awesome app I've recommended in here, or another Android thread, before. Install it and some software on your computer, and your phone turns into a mouse (and keyboard) via your home wifi network. I have my computer connected to my TV, so that's when I use it

Timeriffic - excellent. Have your phone change settings automatically for time of day, location, etc. I use it pretty basically, to automatically turn my phone to silent at the time I head into work, and back on when I leave. Then again to turn the volume and screen brightness down at a certain point late at night, and then back to full volume in the morning. It can do lots more as far as wifi, bluetooth, etc
