What is the pit like at Van? I got pit tix for that show so im kinda excited lol i've never been there

It will be large. Probably the 2nd largest pit after Chicago Northerly Island. Seems disingenuous to calm it a “PIT.” More like “standing general admission.” With that said, will still be great vantage point.

Does DTE do a good job managing WH early entry? it did not appear Chicago did very well. They let in non WH people early and didn't give pit wrist bands before going in (from what my friends said) so had to wait about 15 mins to get their wrist band once entering venue.

I don't feel like spending my day waiting in line though for a spot... so I'll probably be there pretty late. I've seen them in a smaller pit (D&T though) before and 3rd row (band) so I'm not too worried. I'm going to be exploring the city and having some lunch/dinner so I probably won't get to the venue unti around 530pm -2 hr before show?

This is a pit where you can be a relatively late arrival and still get a decent spot. Super small compared to many pits. Never done the WH early entry though, am somewhat interested in that - any info would be appreciated. But not sure I want to bother as I don't want to be all jammed up in the middle. We're practicing social distancing in the pit, right?

Official website says parking opens at 4, but is that set in stone or can you get in a bit earlier? Was hoping to get in around 3 tomorrow.

I’ve always gotten in at 3. One year I was already in the area and drove by the lots for shits and giggles around 2 not expecting to get in, and there was no one there (you don’t pay for general parking but they need checkers for VIP) and I drove right on in.

If it’s 4 now then things have changed.

This is the first I've seen them publicly posting 4 PM for opening. Normally I think they do advise like 3 or 330?. I know I have normally arrived by 3 pm each year for a decade and got in. But im wondering if with covid they are pushing it back? I remember there was one year I got there a little before 3 and they were not letting people in and we had to pull over across the street and then so many people started coming they decided to open it up.

All of the opening venues of the tour were 4pm and only some lot entrances were open due to COVID issues with staffing.

Just ran into two of the tour busses at the gas station by our hotel, completely random. One of the drivers came out and we struck up a conversation with him. Thinking it was carter's driver but we didn't want to ask. Such a cool dude, he said they're so happy to be back on the road and whatnot. He asked what other shows we're heading to. He told us to hang on a minute, and walked back in the bus, and came back out with Friday's setlist from Chicago. Great start to the day!

Very cool! There’s something about “oh shit, the band is in Michigan!” which makes it that much more real. Especially this year, with all the uncertainty.

Cool to grab that setlist, too, given the show got cut short.
