    good New Orleans/Memphis trade

a little bit of relief for the Pelicans to acquire who they need to, plus they get rid of two major mistakes in Adams/Bledsoe

Grizzlies don’t have much to do with their space so might as well acquire bad contracts and good picks. the flexibility will help their extension talk for Jackson and Morant later. also low key Valanciunas was a big problem for them, not sure Adams is better but we’ll see

^ ok a little more research

didn’t realize how long Adams contract is, so they are tying up some potential money, but i guess technically it only overlaps with a couple of years that any extensions kick in

Bledsoe on the move so that saves some space theoretically

i guess this really is about moving from 17 to 10 for Memphis. apparently they really love Giddey who has impressed many in his workouts. overall a decent piece of business but not in love with it

New Orleans clearing all that bad salary for a decent player is great. how good or bad this is will really depend on who 10 and 17 is i guess

Derrick Jones back in Portland but for sure on the move unless Billups actually plans on using him. he kinda stunk it up as the defensive Robin next to Covington’s Batman but he’s still a useful guy to defend some wings

The rumor that LeBron might get to play with two of his most talented children earlier than expected is fun - though I doubt it happens. Lowry and DeMar could be an interesting fit on this team. Fuck three pointers, I never liked them anyway.

Dunn picks up his option, 5m devastating for Atlanta, they need any dollar they can get to keep Collins and a decent backup pg

Forbes an UFA, would be solid for the Lakers

based on my cap sheet if Milwaukee keeps Tucker with full bird rights they will only have the tax payer MLE (5.9m) to get depth

Mills probably will require backup pg money at the minimum 10-12m per, in a hot PG market

Batum will likely ask for the same, and there’s plenty of good teams that can offer him starting roles (Phoenix, Miami, Clippers)

Jeff Green is very gettable. realistically they could get him, Iguodala, Ariza, Dragic, Satoransky, Ellington, Lou Williams, that range of player

only since like 2019, i mostly steal others and condense them for my brain. i’m not endlessly updating i only do it around FA and deadline so i understand where teams are

the CBA is so confusing that they’re not even THAT helpful tbh but it gives me a good idea at least

    Re: The NBA Thread

also, i’m really pumped for this draft. super freaking deep. here are the player comps i have for most

Cunningham of course is leaps and bounds above everyone. best prospect jumper i’ve seen in a long time...add in his passing he’s pretty much Middleton with possible Doncic level passing. just meh athleticism and meh finishing in the paint

Green’s athleticism is ridiculous. Morant but with better touch at the rim and better shot

most of us have seen a bunch of Mobley. got that Chris Bosh body with Adebayo’s rim running/floater mindset. the ceiling is definitely there for a guy who can guard all 5 positions on score on the other end, just gotta get those reps in. i agree with the pundits that say he might have the highest ceiling, while the other two have a higher floor. will def make Cleveland super exciting

Suggs- people are really high on his defense while others are super low. i wasn’t impressed on that end. offensively obviously really good handler and shooter as we saw, i kinda hope Toronto skips him, but i doubt it. not sure Orlando needs him either. i worry about his ceiling at that size.

Barnes- apparently is Mother Theresa personality wise. very smart game, amazing size at SF, but the jump shot is brutal. pretty much a faster Kyle Anderson or a Ben Simmons unafraid to shoot and brick. would be great on an established team like Toronto or Golden State

Kuminga- superstar body and jump shot except it doesn’t go in lol. he’s got the tools but skill wise very green and unpolished. definitely fits Oklahoma City timeline. Siakam ish?

Wagner- people LOVE this guy. he’s so young and we saw a bunch of what he can do this year. really solid tools on both ends. could still slip to Memphis or Sacramento at 10-11 but could go as high as 7

Giddey- really big ball handler that will probably be on the wings in the NBA with some pg duties. unbelievable passer, needs a little more range, meh athleticism. high ceiling and floor, already playing well in the Olympics

Bouknight- his stock rose like crazy over the past few weeks. for a Connecticut comp he’s pretty much a taller Kemba Walker- good midrange, good handles, good craft at the rim. another comp i’ve seen is Gilgeous-Alexander

Sengun- huge rise in his stock followed by a recent fall. he’s apparently incredible in a decent Turkish league. undersized Jokic with similar skills and issues. not sure what that player is in the NBA. Millsap?

Haven’t done a ton of research past 10. obviously we saw a lot of Kispert and Mitchell, both of whom would fit in on every team. hopefully San Antonio gets one of them at 11. Mitchell’s stock is still heavily rising, along with Moses Moody

Keon Johnson has fallen a bit while Duarte, Jalen Johnson, and Trey Murphy are rising, don’t know much about them. Kai Jones is also a center i’ve seen mocked in the lottery

I'd prefer the Buddy Hield trade that was floated out there. Not as ball dominant and can ya know, shoot the ball at a higher clip than anybody playing at 24hr fitness.

to be fair, the only good shooters in lottery range are Cunningham and somewhat Suggs, anyone Orlando gets at 5 and 8 will almost certainly be a bad shooter. they desperately need shooting talent though, so my favorite move for them is trade up for Suggs or trade down for Kispert/Mitchell/Springer

would be surprised if Boston made too much noise as a buyer, they’re desperate to free up bits of space for some win-now guys, or at least to keep dudes they already have
