OK, Justin, I am sure you think you are in love, but really you are just tremendously enjoying being the center of attention in someones life and vise versa. It feels good for both of you to be so important to one another. I think I can safely say I have more experience with this than most who have posted so far. You are too young to be "In Love". You are too young to date anymore than going to a possible school dance or maybe movie. Since neither of you can drive , I can imagine that would be fairly well chaperoned. Of all the couples I have known, I know one couple that had a relationship that started in the 8th grade and stayed together to this day. It is highly rare that this will last. I don't doubt you have feelings, and I wish you luck, but the parents are right slow down.

Then you underestimate that unconditional love. If anyone knows it , it is your parents. They do want to know. They may not think its a great idea but they do want to know.

justin, not to say you dont understand because of age, but when youre 13, you think you're in love and you know everything and that the world will end tomorrow if you break up with the girl. in reality, you most likely wont be dating her in a year, and you almost definitely will not marry this girl. so as someone who was 13 a mere 5 years ago, i understand what youre thinking, but dont let it get to you. in the long run, this is all really very insignificant.

Not quite sure if that responce was full of sarcasm or not. I know that I love my sons unconditionally and will be there to listen and talk to them about anything. The kind of love between a son and his parents is definitely not the same as the infatuation he has with his girlfriend, but it is certainly more important. Keep in mind who has been and always will be there for you.

I'm sorry to say it, but you really don't know love at age 13. You know the need to be around someone because you really enjoy them. I'm 18 and there have been a couple girls throughout my younger years that I thought I was in "love" with, but in the last year or so I realized I did not know the true meaning or feeling of love that isnt unconditional family or friendship love. In the past 6 months I had a relationship with a great girl that I think I might be in love with, but at the same time, I think a lot of it is the distance and time away factor working, since I was in England all summer and we now go to separate schools 8 hours away.

Take it easy, have fun with the girls, but don't get bogged down into anything too serious. You got a lot to learn. And if you do try to talk to your parents about it now, be sure to listen and not get defensive if they don't say what you want to hear. In the long run, having a good relationship with them will pay off a lot more than having a good relationship with this girl.

Thanks...No matter how many brutal realities have been mentioned in this thread, I have to say that I feel like I'm on the top of the world and I wont stop feeling the same way about her. I'm still confused about what the odds about 13 year old couples say that we have no chance, but I really feel like she is the "one" and we're going to work. I know I sound like a helpless dreamer but :

the odds really are horrendous. since youre only 13, youre still going to change a lot. im not anything close to the same person i was 5 years ago. you'll get older and more mature, and things just wont stay the same. im not saying it cant happen, but the odds of it actually happening are 1 in a million. and thats being generous.

We used to go to the same middle school...we're both 13 but I'm a grade above her. The people in my class were all 14 and 15 and the people in her class were all my age so I hung out with that class and yes and yes and boom and here we are.
