I was watching and they said it was a catch.

I think if it had been ruled incomplete on the field it would have remained incomplete.

I also personally did not think it was a catch...despite the actual catch being amazing.

I think TCU could lose and get in but they don’t have the brand name of Georgia or Michigan so I don’t put it past the committee to go back to the Ohio State well in that scenario.

I still see people mentioning Bama but I just don’t see that happening. Their losses were close but at this point their best win (Ole Miss) looks pretty bad

EDIT at this point I guess Texas is Bama’s best win.

I think if TCU loses (and even gets blown out), they are still definitely in. They have enough good wins. I think if USC loses, Ohio St will get in over them.

I have a little bit of a tough time when a team sitting at home on Conf Champ weekend gets in after a team loses in its conference title game. It works both ways, but I think it's sort of unfair that team has to play another game, and get another loss on the resume.

how is it stupid? they have prime time to themselves and giving their top schools exposure to people who normally don't see them play. 8pm on sat already has 2 games.

It’s the best game of the weekend in an off regular time slot. The 8pm games on Saturday are irrelevant.

PAC 12 has had the Friday slot for years to basically own the time slot because in most years they are irrelevant and of less interest than the Saturday games, I don't think they had the option late in the season to look at the landscape, decide their game was compelling, and change their time slot willy nilly; I think it is part of the broadcast contract.

I think both are real good fits, Fickell a little more than Rhule.

I thought there was a case for Ohio State to still be ahead of USC in this week's rankings as I think their resumes are pretty close at this moment.

But with the way things have shook out, that the committee is saying right now they think USC is #4 above Ohio State, then I agree that it's silly they could lose it by losing an extra game that Ohio State didn't qualify for.

I guess I was making that comment with the thinking this whole time it was a given USC would be at #4 last night.

I don’t think USC is a great team, but I don’t think anyone in the playoffs wants to face that QB. He’s an incredible player. It was weird, it felt like they dominated that game because of all the plays he was making but really it was a pretty close game all night. They didn’t really pull away.

Pac12 has always been friday night. it doesn't matter if its the best game or not, which is subjective anyway. friday 8pm is their time slot because it gives them a time to showcase the conference without distraction. fans of the 4 B1G and ACC teams are going to watch their games on saturday, but they'll all watch the Pac12 game on friday when theres nothing else on.

i would love to see him go there, but i'd be shocked if he does.

i think it really depends on what he wants out of being a HC. maybe he just really wants to shine a light on HBCUs and stays at jackson state. if he wants to chase a big name job, going to colorado would be a great stepping stone, and better than a place like GTech, like other rumors are saying.

colorado would make him a bigger fish in a smaller pond. USC and UCLA are gone after next year, so outside of utah and oregon, there's nobody else fighting for the top on a consistent basis. in the SEC, you got teams like LSU, Florida, and Auburn who are shit one year and then have the talent to fight for a division title the next. i think he would make colorado in a weaker Pac12 a power quicker than a lower SEC team against a stacked SEC. then when he is a Pac12 king, he can get any elite job opening that comes along.

Dudes 55 and has health issues. I wonder if his next stop will be his last. And I would think turning around a P5 school might be a bigger ship to maneuver than Jackson State.

i didnt know about the health issues, but he can be in and out of boulder before he turns 60.

take it with a grain of salt, but i saw a post earlier from an "insider" that said he is def leaving jackson state at the end of the year. its between colorado and cincy with it being a 95% chance he goes to colorado.
