Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I can't help but wonder where this band would be today if this tragedy hadn't happened. What gems of yours have been stolen from us? I'm happier than most with the current state of the band, but your absence to this day hangs over it all for me. Grateful for the music you were able to give us, and I treasure the memories I have of seeing you live.

    Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

Damn there really hasn't been one time that I have listened to this band since 8/19/08 that I haven't thought of that terrible day.

I remember sitting at home working on some homework and one of the news stations was on tv. I wasn't really paying attention until I heard "leRoi Moore of the Dave Matthews Band has sadly passed away this evening" then I couldn't believe it. I really didn't know what to think. I thought it was the end of DMB. I was shocked when I heard they were going to still play the show that night in the staples center. I downloaded the show to my I pod a few days later. no show in the history of dmb hit me harder then that show. Just the pure emotion of that show. Listening to Dave talk after bartender hit me hard. Just wow.

    RIP Roi.

    Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I remember going to school the day after Roi passed and it was just odd to think that he was gone. It was Just hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that dmb would never be the same or if dmb would ever play again.

We Are just fans of the band I can't Imagine how the band member were feeling.

    Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

Listened to the tape of last show I saw with Roi from Raleigh 9/18/07 the other night. Some real gems with Warehouse (album intro & Stop-Time), You Never Know (tour debut), Ending run of The Stone SMTS ASTB Too Much, and a Grey Street Ants Marching encore. I was a senior in high school and remember having such a great time with a big group of friends on the lawn. Listening back definitely makes me miss his soulful voice on sax. Extremely grateful that that I got to see the band with Roi a handful of times 04-07.

I'm listening to ATL 08 right now and right after Everyday ended Dave gave Roi a shout-out for a speedy recovery. It caught me off guard and really made me pause for a moment. We all miss your music, Roi! Rest well!

    Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

Was listening to LT 13 (Busch Stadium) and during the beginning of the Two Step opener, Roi came in with his pennywhistle (I believe that's the instrument he's playing anyway) and I guess it just caught me totally off guard. As awesome as Leroi was when he would get down in some of the band's bigger jams, that touch he had when he "whispered" so to speak to this day is what I miss most about him. He had a way of making the quietest note carry the most weight. Love and miss the Groogrux King.

    Re: R.I.P. Leroi Moore.

I haven't posted here for a long, long, long, long time. This year, though, with DMB not touring, I feel things are a little different.

Every year on 8.19 I play a tribute to the late, great LeRoi Moore. This little bit is from the 3.17.93 Flood Zone show after a beautiful PFWYG (Dave & Carter) and followed by a classic Minarets (into a unbelievably wild BWBF if you were curious [owned by Boyd and LeRoi]).

    Please enjoy this: https://youtu.be/dhKesSlUBQY

Also, I'll do a few B&Ps (remember when that was a thing?) of the show if you PM me. I think it's already known that this show is pretty much a must own. RIP Roi
