I'm a 2001 member and at less popular shows that are seniority based and I can pull some pit and the rest of the time it is between rows 15-20 usually.
If you joined 8 years after that though you are going to get uppers almost all the time.

As an '09 member I don't find that to be the case at all. From my understanding seniority doesn't help in the lottery for getting confirmed for uppers/lowers/etc. It only helps once you've already been selected to get the better seats of the area you are confirmed. So you can be a 12/98 member and be confirmed for terrible uppers on a seniority show, but you'll have the "best" terrible uppers available; while a brand new 2019 member can pull PIT or lowers. In theory, you both have equal chances to get PIT/Lowers/Uppers based on the random draw.
And that's, "in theory", as well. It's not a transparent process at all.
