Timing of Warehouse Membership matter?

Hey y'all...

Just wondering if there is a particular time when it's best to start a Warehouse membership.

Just finished up Alpine, my shows for the summer. Not sure if I get anything out of registering now (since I'm not going to any more shows this year) or if I should just wait until 2020 when the new tour announcements would be upcoming.

Thanks!

The word timing and warehouse don’t go together.

IMO, it’s best to wait til they announce the tour.

I bet if you looked at the join month of all Warehouse members, the vast majority would be December, January and February.

You get the 2019 package if you join now. You don’t get it if you wait until next year.

Warehouse is a waste of money if you care about where you sit, but the resident conspiracy theory is that brand new members get hooked up with more pits, so I would wait until next year to throw away your $35.

Better yet, give me $35 a year and I'll sit on the internet all day like I do anyway and look out for whatever tickets you want.

Another thing to consider is that Warehouse membership packages now ship in your renewal month, so January renewals will always get the cd/bonus gift almost a year before December renewals. Once you begin a membership you can’t change your renewal month.

This is a significantly better deal than the Warehouse.

IMO, the only real value to the WH is the early entry if you want to make sure you can get a poster.

Is it even hard to get a poster anymore? I feel like I've seen some available after the show more frequently lately

    Well played.

Yeah, I don't know why anyone would join Warehouse at this point. Most of the seating is seniority based so you are 20 years too late. Unless you just want the Warehouse package there isn't much value to it.

The WH board is another good source for face value tickets. That's about it.

I like the chance to get WH exclusive bonus discs, the yearly WH disc, and hopefully the Warm Up show is the start of something new. Also, DMB Live 25 was a really cool benefit to have first dibs on. I know the vast majority is essentially spending $35 for the opportunity to spend more money; however, $35 a year usually won't break the bank, so I guess it's about having realistic expectations about what you'll get out of it.

If you want the WH disc, sign up this year. If it's just for tickets, next year.

When was your join date? Because if you were 10 years too late (like joined in 2008/2009) then you were never going to get seniority seating.

I'm a 2001 member and at less popular shows that are seniority based and I can pull some pit and the rest of the time it is between rows 15-20 usually.

If you joined 8 years after that though you are going to get uppers almost all the time.

As an '09 member I don't find that to be the case at all. From my understanding seniority doesn't help in the lottery for getting confirmed for uppers/lowers/etc. It only helps once you've already been selected to get the better seats of the area you are confirmed. So you can be a 12/98 member and be confirmed for terrible uppers on a seniority show, but you'll have the "best" terrible uppers available; while a brand new 2019 member can pull PIT or lowers. In theory, you both have equal chances to get PIT/Lowers/Uppers based on the random draw.

And that's, "in theory", as well. It's not a transparent process at all.

Meh, I still think the Warehouse is worth..I might not get Pit or front row but I still end up with tickets. There is usually an awful lot of people melting down on here when the Ticketmaster sale goes live and they can't get tickets

Also, I pull pit for Hartford every single year to the point I had to opt out of pit lol
