Eh, agree the Right took it and ran with it out of context. However, you still have to call a spade a spade. The ”you can keep your doctor” thing ended up being false for a lot of people. And its more complex than the Dr being an asshole.

It was wrong to say ”you can keep your doctor.” I dont know if Obama knew that then, or if it ended up being the case after the fact. Either way, it was incorrect.

I think claiming to have lost your doctor due to Obamacare is like some badge of honor in the Republican Party.

I've had the same doctor since before Obama was elected. I don't particularly like or dislike him. Hardly think about him unless I need to go in for something.

My employer sponsored healthcare premiums have increased some since the ACA, but very likely have increased less than they would have otherwise.

Insurance companies are profit-seeking and will look to raise rates to what the market will bear.

I'd rather expel insurance companies from the entire equation.

Obama likely believed what he was saying at the time he was saying it (pre-passage). He probably should have chosen his words more carefully, but if it helped get the legislation passed then ends definitely justified the means in this case and it helped millions of Americans get access to insurance that otherwise could not.

But, much worse than Trump wanting to jail his political opponents. Policy!!
