Re: Marvel Cinematic Universe Fandom (MCUc)

Everything I've seen points to some type of time travel/alternate reality involving Captain Marvel in Avengers 4. It would be a little deus ex machina-y, but outside of the whole "trapped in the Soul Stone" idea, how else are they going to reverse the snap?

Incorrect. They said quite awhile ago now that Spiderman:Homecoming 2 (obviously just working title) picks up the story right after Avengers 4, and they mean RIGHT after. Like I think it's literally going to be within 24 hours of whatever the end A4 events are to whatever events start off Spidey (which only makes further sense considering how they've been open on Homecoming 2 branching out into a more international landscape.

The time line thing admittedly does confuse me a bit. I mean Feige and the Russos owned up on how some post-production lackey just plain screwed the pooch in putting "8 YEARS LATER" up on the screen instead of 6 and no one higher up on the chain noticed til it was too late. But the long term Spiderman thing makes it even more confusing, and that didn't even hit me at all until I saw others discussing it no more than couple weeks ago. This whole fundamental idea of Marvel's for the Spidey franchise having each subsequent sequel be a year of high school, well that's already screwed up. But you can be damn sure if there's on particular studio who has the best chance of organically and (relatively) logically dealing with, it is Marvel Studios.

and now with the fact that Vulture's still gonna be hanging around (much smaller in scope), it doesn't take just an uber-comics nerd to see that they at least have the Sinister Six very much on their mind.

I really think the new Ant Man movie will have something major to do with A4. Maybe some kind of dimensional travel or something.

As for Captain Marvel, it's set in the 90s so it'll be setting up that world which I think will play a huge part of the post-A4 world. She's probably going to come in and kick Thanos' ass too.

I feel like Ant Man will do something with Quantam Realm to tie in maybe? Also can definitely see it ending with someone turning to dust maybe in a post credits scene.

Captain Marvel all I want to know is where has she been for so long and not helping.

My bet is Pym and/or Wasp get snapped. And yea, I have a feeling this moving is going to give us a good idea of what's going to be needed to stop Thanos. I think the Quantum Realm will be a factor.

Thank goodness. Aside from the MCU and other titles, I just wanted to see Comcast lose.

Same. I'm a DC nuthugger but the thought of adding X-Men and friends to Kevin Feige's arsenal does excite me. I'd think at this point Comcast would have to empty every last cent from their piggy bank to acquire Fox

Seriously? They look almost identical. Except Elizabeth looks like she’s eaten in the past ten years.

I literally have no idea what the Olsen twins look like outside of Full House when they were kids

It's wild that Elizabeth is the successful one of the 3 sisters. I figured they would've stayed in the limelight a little more.

actually I don't know that I agree with that, certainly not "almost identical". and Elizabeth herself is still fairly thin.

in fact now I think about it, no when I first saw Elizabeth Olsen I had to read elsewhere she was the twins' sister. She is WAY more attractive.
maybe with Mary Kate and Ashley it's just they're SO thin it's like that "heroin chic" look.

ya know I don't think I'd ever seen a picture with all three of them together before. oddly enough, from that pic the twin on the right looks closer to Elizabeth then I think the one on the left.

Ant-Man and the Wasp at a stellar 89% fresh score on RT (we know DC fans it is rigged).

Looks like Marvel is going to have another critical hit on their hands!

Excited to see in next Thursday.

I wish our theaters would list it so I can buy a ticket for Thursday night. I really enjoyed the first and am really excited about this one. It looks like a really fun movie and I have a feeling there will be some Infinity War implications involved.

I thought it was a decent little, stand-alone entry into the MCU. That first post-credits scene though. Jeez. Should’ve been the actual ending.

Actual film ending or post credits 2?

I thought it was actually pretty perfect the way they did it.

    Enjoyed the movie as well.

    But man that first scene.

Actual ending. It just doesn’t sit well with me that the most impactful scene of the entire movie occurs after the credits start to roll. I totally get that it doesn’t jive with the overall tone of the movie, but it’s the only thing people are going to be talking about. Those that stuck around, at least.

I mean if you don't know by now to stick around in an MCU movie I don't really know what to tell you. Especially since it was the first one and literally 2 min max after it ended.

I think you hit it on the head though is that it would have totally not jived with the overall tone of the movie.

Yeah, I don't have any sympathy for people that fail to stick around at this point. I just find it funny that when I'm talking about this movie six months from now, I'll be talking about that scene first and foremost.

But thematically it makes total sense. It's a mostly self-contained story that doesn't have much concern for the MCU at large.
