Agreed.
Equal pay doesn’t apply here. It’s not an equal product that brings in the same revenue.

My cousin played professional volleyball for years in Eastern Europe. That’s where the market to pay him was. There isn’t the same market here. It just is what it is.

If players want to earn additional or a higher income by playing overseas, there’s nothing wrong in that. But we shouldn’t question why the salaries aren’t high enough here.

If I'm an employer, and my employees come to me and say "hey, in my spare time I need to go work in fucking Russia to make some guap" I'm gonna do some looking to see how to prevent that. How do I increase revenue, or decrease expenses, so I can increase the compensation my product is asking for and come to an amicable agreement that doesn't end with them splitting their time in a hostile country.

I don't have the answers. I'm not a WNBA owner. But this is definitely not the ideal outcome.

I mean, you can't just magically make a league or team that has been bleeding money since its existence, profitable.

Owners have their hands tied because there's essentially no demand for the product.
