Re: 2020-2021 NFL Season

If the season ended today, the Eagles would win the East with a 2-4-1 record.

The Bears are already over next year's projected $175 million salary cap. I don't see them having $40 million in cap space to take on Ryan's contract. Between his age and cap hit, Ryan's value to other teams isn't nearly as strong as you think it is.
    Fields won't fall to 4.

I just used the Bears as an example where he fits on the field. I know his contract makes it tough to move him. His cap hit is too high.

If we trade Julio to GB and just cut Ryan and take the cap hit we could manage that with a rookie deal for Fields. The key would be making sure we get him. Are the Giants looking to develop Jones or move on from him? If they are okay keeping him as a mock I saw suggests we could flip the 2 and 4 using GB pick for Julio and get Fields there.

i mean i get that all 4 teams in the division are bad but their partners this year are the NFC South, AFC north, and NFC west, these records aren’t surprising and just shows you how the current system is pretty fair

No they aren't. It's four games AFC North, four NFC West, six in division and one NFC South and one NFC North.

But your point still stands. NFC East teams have to play the Seahawks, Cardinals, Browns, Steelers and Ravens, and then the Rams, 49ers and Bengals aren't complete pushovers this year. Eagles getting the Saints and Packers on top of that is just brutal.

Whoever wins the NFC East had to battle all year. I'm not saying they aren't bad teams (they are), but the schedule may be the hardest this season.

Unlikely, but Fields has a better chance of going 4 than he does 1.

The Jets traded 6 and 3 second round picks to the Colts to get to 3 and draft Darnold. I think it'd likely take more than what you are suggesting, as the Packers 1st rounder is likely to be in the late 20s.

So how does this end for Darnold? Does he just get released and anyone can sign him or does he need to be traded. If I didn't have a back up I'd def sign him and see if there is anything there with him being a starter eventually. Want to see him and how he performs when he isn't a Jet.

Sam Darnold looks beaten down as Trevor Lawrence looms for Jets

Assuming the Jets pick #1, trading Darnold seems inevitable. It wouldn't make any sense to release him. Darnold's whole salary is guaranteed next year, so the Jets wouldn't save any money by cutting him.

What would they get for him. Like a 3rd pick? Does the new team need to pay him his full salary?

Your guess is as good as mine. The team trading for Darnold would only have one really cheap year of him, so I can't imagine it would be too strong of a haul.

I believe the new team would take on his $9,7 million cap hit and pay that full salary, unless they negotiated otherwise. The Jets would save about $5 million against their cap with a trade.

Browns should take a swing at Darnold and right the wrong that Dorsey made in 18.

He doesn't get by Jacksonville at 3 imo. I know it would take more than the 4 and GB. I meant using those as part of the deal. The 4, GB 1, and 2 2nds or something.

What wrong is that? I don't think the Ravens are shopping Lamar Jackson.

assuming you mean third round. they may be able to get that from a team who straight up doesn't have a QB (washington? chicago?)

Bears are stuck in the middle, the worst place to be. Too good of a defense to be terrible, but no QB and maybe the worst OL in the league. They will just make or just miss the playoffs and end the season with no idea what to do. Meh.

Everyone knew they were pretenders, but that was ugly.
