Listening now. I don't think it sounds "bad" by any means yet. I dont know if its perfect, but I was expecting something horrific based on how some people described it

also - for the 3rd time - artwork please?? lol

Does anyone have an issue with STAY track? Just after the 3:05 mark somewhere between 3:05 and 3:30 it just stops and goes right to Jimi

As I said before, it is not bad, it is not good. I would say “standard”: in a scale to five I would rate it ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Thank you. I was thinking this too. I am going to hold off on this. I feel I already have enough fine performances of these songs to warrant not buying this release. I look for something unique sounding or new (special guest, rare version, etc.)

So, the mix of this is... interesting. Huh?

The vocals sound echo-ish. Tim is turned WAY down. Roi is turned WAY up. Boyd might as well not even be there. Fonz is the bomb. Dave's guitar is pleasantly abundant.

I like this about Live Trax. They're all mixed differently to give them a unique sound.

I dig it. But it's somehow odd.

Dave does sound echoey, I’m having a hard time locating Tim and Boyd in this mix.

It’s 98 fall so it’s a good show. I would say there is not one special song performance on it though. I’ve listened twice and enjoyed it, but if you don’t buy all of these, I’m not sure what would love the needle on this one for you

I agree with SeekUp....i own all official releases so buying this one was a no-brainer for me. I've enjoyed it, but wouldn't put it in the Top 10-15 LT's and maybe only around in my Top 50-60%, purely because it is Fall '98.

I think its 100% worth buying. If you enjoy fall 98, you'll enjoy this release. Performances are spot on and Seek Up is definitely a standout for me- the way it segues into the heartbeat jam is incredible.

Yeah the set isn't as strong as other 1998 shows, but its fall 98 with some great performances... what's not to love?

If anything, buying fall '98 shows and other old shows tells management we want these older tours released as often as possible. For that reason, as many people who are vaguely interested should buy this.

it still just baffles me that mgmt decided to release a winter 98 show, and somehow picked one that doesn't have Stone, Pig, Spoon, Dreaming Tree or Last Stop. not to mention no guests.

on top of that, 11 of the 15 songs were already released from the previous show (lt39). and of the other 4 songs, only Minarets hasn't been on an already released winter 98 show. meanwhile, we have no releases of Stone, Pig or Spoon from 98, and only 1 of dreaming tree.

don't get me wrong, i know the songs were performed well, but outside of Minarets, theres nothing else on this release we don't already have from the same tour.

This is correct. Bought it, love it. But who and how these things are selected is just as big of a mystery as who killed Teresa Hallbauch

    Disappointing? Yes.
    Surprising? Not really.

This band's management rarely hits a home run with Live Trax decisions, and even when they do, they usually trip rounding third.

I bought the album as .mp3s and I'm listening to it on decent headphones and my feeling is the sound quality is perfectly fine, just not noteworthy. You're not going to use this disc to demonstrate how good your stereo is, but it sounds much better than the typical audience recording from that era and if you're listening to it passively, you'll have no complaints. (Although Roi is quite prominent in the mix - at least with the audio settings I use- which might be a justification for some people to buy this LiveTrax, or a warning that the mix will not sound "natural" to all ears until you adjust the sound)

I feel the same about the performance: nothing is performed badly, but I have many versions of every song on this album that I prefer. Nothing from this album is going to be added to one of my playlists.

    Butttt.....

We've already had more than 50 LiveTrax and about the same number of dmblives and other official live releases.

I agree with everyone that has said that if the band is releasing an old show, at this point they should be releasing a show that makes people excited.

There were so many shows that autumn with amazing guests--release more of those!

There are some shows from that tour for which no audience recordings exist -give us one of those!

There were shows with a lot more songs that haven't already appeared on a live album from 1998 -- give us one of those!

They've never released a show from the earlier tours in 1998 -- give us one of those!

It frustrates me that instead of getting one of those 4 options we get a show that is "good/fine." (Unless the rumours of their archive not having many shows from 1998 in release-quality recordings are true)

Here's what I'm using. I just cropped it and resized to make it a square. Not perfect, but looks fine.

    I have conflicted feelings.

I really enjoyed listening to this LiveTrax. I think it proves the point that basically any show from Fall 98 is going to be miles better than a newer show, because this is about as basic (in terms of setlists, guests, etc) as a show got on that tour. That's not to insult it, it's still a really nice listen and a reminder throughout of how good the band was then.

But I was kind of left wondering after listening if this release really needed to exist. This is the ... fifth(?) show now to be released from that short tour and, much as I enjoy this release, this probably the least interesting of the five, the one I'm least likely to return to (even the DMBLive has a more interesting setlist, plus Bela).

If they're just going to keep releasing 4 new LTs a year, I mean, I certainly hope they keep including older shows, but ... there are definitely shows out there with more reason to exist as a release than this one.

I bought the MP3s of this show and all files work except for Too Much. Can someone assist a Proudest Monkey and resolve this please?
