Really? What the consensus on this?

It's funny, as a kid I found it hilarious/impressive that Dave might be trashed/stoned up there. It's less so now.

I don't think I've gotten the impression that he was inebriated on stage or whatever in nearly a decade. Am I wrong?

I watched some of it via the couch tour on FB. I have no idea where this guy got the idea that Dave was wasted.

I don’t think he’s every really been inebriated on stage. He’s said in interviews and in between songs how he could never do that because he’d be unable to do anything but vaguely strum and quietly go “eh mahh nahhhh fa da da la da da”

I think the whole idea of Dave being fucked up on stage was just drunk frat guys seeing a socially awkward dude performing weirdly on stage and thinking “bro look how fucked up he is bro! Hahaha!”

He did seem buzzed. At least I think. After Halloween he jumped and fell over into a roll thing. I thought he hurt himself. I know accidents can happen but he just seemed different.

I used to have some 90’s shows that disprove this. He was drunk a lot on stage.

A guy in his mid-fifties misjudged the last of a series of (edit: actually, the second of three) jumps at the very end of several hours of performing, tumbled, and easily got right back up and walked around. And the thought is that he was drunk? I don't really see it based off of that.

Yeah I feel you. He just seemed different. Maybe he smoked. I dunno. His mannerisms throughout the night just didn’t seem like they normally do. He was sluggish and way more loose at the same time. I’m not sure what was up. Maybe that Colorado air.

The spaces between songs were painful. Dave looked lost IMO.

Just thought he was having fun! Night 1 he was dancing and acting crazy like he did in the 90s.. having a blast.. last night he was just a tad subdued.. but one would be after the N1 the band gave..

N1 Denver was a SOLID set. Dave was in a fantastic mood, and the band was rested/energetic. N2 lacked good flow, and had a disappointing set aside from #40 and the encore.

I’ve seen Dave the last 3 years in CO. he lost his voice entirely in 2018. that altitude gets to him.

I will never, ever understand the hate of Jimi Thing. It has been, and always shall be, a fantastic, classic DMB song. And it's so much fun live.

If Boyd got his shit together, and committed himself to his craft, I would love to have him back on stage with DMB. The jams were much more dynamic and diverse when a violin was included in the lineup. Songs like LIOG and Nancies are infinitely better with violin solos instead of Timmy shred fest

I haven’t listened to the Sirius stream, but in the arena there were a few spots where I heard him and thought “that sounds more Roi-like!”

But most of the time I couldn’t really hear him. Hopefully he gets over the nerves and has a better feel for the songs tonight
