2018 Warehouse Member Package Delivery Changes

Just got the following email from the WH:

Dear Warehouse Member,

We are pleased to announce that beginning in 2018, the Warehouse member packages will ship monthly, as opposed to previous years method of a bulk shipment early in the following year.

When you renew your Warehouse membership, please confirm your MY INFO profile page ship address. Our system will pull the address listed on your MY INFO page to ship your Warehouse member package in the month following your renewal. For example, when you renew in January 2018, your Warehouse member package will ship February 2018. All members have until the last day of the month to update the address on the MY INFO page. Warehouse members will also be given the opportunity to opt out of receiving the package.

NOTE: The 2017 Warehouse member package will ship in bulk in the spring of 2018 to all members who joined/renewed in 2017.

The Warehouse was created in December 1998. In December of 1999, the band wanted to thank their members for being a part of their official fan association and developed the Warehouse Membership Package. We hope you enjoy it.

So, I have to renew in February 2018. I'll get my 2018 package in March if this is true, which means I'll get my 2018 package before my 2017 package?

Why would anyone opt out of the package? I mean, the trinket is crap, there's no physical photo anymore, and I never listen to the CD, but I paid for it, so gimme.


Now, if they'd knock $5 off my membership fee, sure, I'd opt out.

- My usual renewal is in February 13th, which means I'll get my package in March.

That just seems kinda weird. Just because someone joined the Warehouse later in whatever year they joined, they should get their package later than me, just because I decided to join in February?

Yeah, I don't see this going well... I mean, in theory, it's probably a good idea to stretch out the distribution schedule so it doesn't hit all at once. But at the same time, I just see it being managed well. It's one thing to manage 1 big distribution list/database... it only further complicates things when you put it into 12 different buckets.

That said... I kinda wonder if maybe this will lead to them releasing the WH8/10 digitally? That way people aren't waiting for (or stealing) the content.

I think I renew in November. weird that apparently they expect me to wait that long to listen to the WH disc when people are going to have had it for 10 months.

I expire 1/31, so apparently I'll get my 2018 in February.
I'm guessing it'll be end of summer by the time I see the 2017 package.
I mean, they're already saying spring, but it'll probably be late while they figure out this monthly 2018 package. Oh, wait - then they'll have to focus on tickets, so I'm placing my bets that the 2017 package will arrive in October.

I think what drop said below is the only thing that would make sense. Opt out of getting the CD and just take the digital files.

My renewal date is Jan 5th. I will be shocked if I get my 2018 package in February (and will find it hysterical if it comes before the 2017 package).

Isn't this what they used to do or close? I got my first package in the summer of 02 and joined February 02.

But by the sounds of it you could get the 2018 package before the 2017 one if they can actually pull this off.

does anyone honestly care about their WH package? make the cd a download lower membership cost and be done with it. They'd likely make more money doing away with some junk people throw away anyways.

I don't care about the package. I don't even have a CD player. I usually send the CD to a friend to rip for me, just because all I want is the digital music.

This just further cements that I made the right decision.

That's what I would think as per their email. At least for the one package you will. You can always email them. They reply pretty quickly usually.

I still like getting it. Highly doubt they would ever lower membership cost even if they did switch to a download and got rid of the other thing.

The WH actually sending out the packages one month after you renew instead of making people wait a whole year further cements your decision to leave? This is what the WH should have been doing all along.

I agree, this is a more efficient way, and quicker for getting packages in the hands of fans. Its just rough for some people because of the timing and all I think, but it should even out. unless I'm missing something.

Looking from 2006 and later, it looks like the earliest they’ve announced it is January 8th, 2007. The latest they’ve announced it is April 12th, 2016.
