Meanwhile up here in PA, one of the states with the best rates, morons are trying to impeach the governor.

*Prompter Thread* (NO Personal Attacks, Trolling, breaking 52 USC 30121 OR 2 USC 684)

132 employees of all airlines/rental car/TSA at MCO tested positive from March to June. An additional 128 positives were linked to traceable connections — that totals 260. Somehow that was combined with the 500 tests from last week (two positives) to result in the bad data.

It's pretty pathetic that I, lowly attorney and internet poster, could have predicted this but the people in charge of molding policy in a state of 5+ million people just said fuck it and unnecessarily exposed people.

Primary education isn't a strong area of expertise for me, and I don't have kids of my own yet, so I am usually not "with it" or up to date on everything in that arena. While I don't necessarily always agree with your education takes, you're no doubt the most informed person (or at least the one who expresses and posts about it) in this thread on this issue. I think we need more people like you voicing their views on education
My kids go to a private school, so I doubt I’d get any votes for a school board.
And I don’t think 1 school board can affect the fundamental change we need. The crisis of our educational system, particularly the role it plays in systemic racism and civil rights, is one of the most pressing issues in this country, but also one that is largely ignored. Kids can’t vote, and suburbanites in good districts definitely don’t want anything to change, so here we are. It’s the dirty little secret we all ignore.

I have less than zero interest in being involved in any form of local government.
Once my kids are both in school FT, my goal has always been to be a CASA volunteer.

I swore off voting for any R ever again after the Garland SCOTUS debacle. But I’ll make an exception if DeWine runs for re-election. He’s been great. Swift action, flattened the curve with no real peak outside of a couple outbreaks in prisons.

He was also one of the first to shut down schools and implement stay at home orders. Speed is EVERYTHING when trying to slow the spread of the virus. DeWine listened to science / doctors and took swift, decisive action.

Even though it's just a silhouette, the first look at Brendan Gleeson playing Trump in Showtime's The Comey Rule is uncanny:

I think some are now being blindsided because they made it through the late winter/spring without any real spikes like we were seeing in the northeast

And now states like Arizona, Texas, and to a lesser extent Florida are in a “the fuck do we do now” situation.

National debt over 26 trillion. Nice.

Holy shit. If someone told me that was a picture of Trump I wouldn't even consider thinking twice.

I’ll even go as far as saying he acted sooner than many Democratic governors, including Cuomo.

He’s been very cautious with Ohio’s phased reopening, that’s why you’re not seeing the spike there that other states like Arizona, Florida, and Texas are having. Hell, even California opened too early.

So Trump has essentially matched Obama's contribution to the debt in less than half the time.

Ky (or other conservatives in here), insofar as the Republican party continues to attempt to hold itself as the party of fiscal responsibility, in light of it being yet another clear lie, is there any policy position keeping you in the Republican party (to the extent that you still are)?
