Good luck! I hope you can come back with something.

I've posted my feelings on the new album, I'm only going to believe it's coming when I see the official Warehouse email announcement.

The band feels like this album is Grammy worthy… deadline for this years Grammys is September 30th… “new music Friday” October 1st 2021 will be brand new DMB.

Probably want to take another walk around the moon if you honestly believe we'll have brand new DMB in three days.

No chance we get a full surprise album on Friday as Brandi Carlile’s new record is out Friday. Her and Dave are tight, can’t see that happening. Maybe a single.

Brenny comes in here and cranks out another half assed post and now everyone thinks a single is coming on Friday.

Haven't we been burned enough? I say no album this year. Or single.

Nah, most of the replies are pointing out how ridiculous it is to think we'd get new music this week.

But yeah, I think the window for announcing a release this year has probably past. I'm not expecting anything before April-ish at this point.

There is a huge difference between evolution and adaptation. DMB hasn't evolved they have adapted. I respect the way they have adapted but they haven't evolved.

The TimC/DC Busted Stuff's post roi were absolutely a step down from the roi era ones because Tim just played over the entire song

Old School Jimi Thing >> New 45 minute Jimi Thing

Come tomorrow isn't an evolution it's an album with 5 or so solid songs and the rest is trash and doesn't translate live

Some of the best dmb songs from 2004 to Present have failed to make album and after road testing were scrapped by dave and should have never left (A Dream So Real, Break For it, Shotgun, Break Free, etc)

This band has done a great job of adapting and i 100% commend them for how they entertained us Gorge Weekend and how buddy has brought back morale. But by no means is that evolution. Give me the sound of the 1998-2004 DMB over 2005 to Present.

Yep. It's a sad reality, but I've given up all hope for a new album this year. I'll wait for an official WH announcement before I get excited again.

Tim didn't play "over" the entire song, he literally played the entire song. Dave didn't play guitar at all on those 2010 performances, except for some noodling during the jam (Which sound great with Jeff imo)

If the band really cared about the Grammys, you'd think they would promote something at this point. Even just a single.

Not at all I love this band and still appreciate how they have endured through the various changed. Especially this year where the balance of tim being turned down and daves guitar sounding louder in the mix is the best I have seen it in this post roi era. While it may sound crazy I can appreciate the current era of the band but acknowledge that that they have not truly evolved into some prime from 2009-Present. Their prime is over but they still put on a great show and morale is at an all time high for the on stage band.

I highly doubt the Grammys are in any way a factor for the band's release strategy.

Ever since the Grammy’s left Roi off of the tribute section the year he passed I would hope the band said F the Grammys.

    Re: New Album Coming Soon?

This means nothing in relation to other bigger artists having supposedly recorded in a similar time frame as DMB was during the pandemic releasing music, but the Punch Brothers are just taking pre-orders for a new album that may (or may not) be the result of sessions they recorded in November of 2020. These types of bands, bluegrass and new grass tend to recording quickly and release music relatively quickly. Given that they're just releasing music recorded a month or two after DMB recorded, it's not surprising that we've not gotten anything from the band at this point. We have little real knowledge of the other artists/bands regarding when they actually wrote and recorded the albums released during the lockdown phase(s) of the pandemic. Some stuff may have been in the can, just waiting to be released. Some may have actually been written and recorded just before, at the beginning, or anytime prior to release.

I think we all want it ASAP, but the only thing that really has us expecting stuff is the band telling us to expect stuff. This is obviously a bit frustrating for those of us starved for new music, but like everyone else the band is watching everything playout in real time. Expectations were based on ideal outcomes, but we're not living in a time of ideal outcomes. DMB wants to tour in support of a release, but it seems they didn't want the 30th Anniversary tour to be a new album tour...more of everything as opposed to a focus on new stuff. So, it's likely they wait until a new tour is coming. Maybe they release early in the new year and do a Winter tour or do a Spring/Summer tour that starts w/ indoor venues.

Regardless, we wait...until we get word from the band. It's all we can do.
