Solid HD presentation of a great setlist of excellent performances?
Not surprised it's popular at all.
That being said, the tempos reach a fever pitch, an then just keep pushing and pushing. I really sense Carter's half-playful, half-sadistic urge to batter and punish the band...and the audience. The final arc of Last Stop/Ants is just exhaustingly, brutalizingly fast. Even LIOG, which Dave opens with a nice moderate tempo; Carter comes in at a breakneck.
And then Dave oddly seems to double down on his hoarse voice, choosing painful screamers like Burning Down the House and Last Stop.
A stimulating, impressive run, but definitely hard to take in in one setting.
(Just another reason it's great to have it on Blu-ray! Live? I frankly don't know if I would have made it to the end, and I KNOW my wife wouldn't have.)
