i've heard for years that dave is under contract to release 1 more solo album. maybe that isn't true, but if it is, then there is no reason to be releasing so many songs that would be better suited for a dave solo album on DMB albums. the biggest problem with come tomorrow as an album is that half of it feels like a DMB album and the other half feels like a dave solo album. if its going to be a DMB album, then make it an album of songs that sound like its the band.
the only thing about roi that would make sense is that he would have been in the studio telling dave that a song doesn't fit and keeping the solo stuff off the band albums.
these songs are all full-on dave solo songs:
baby blue
belly full
sweet
here on out
when i'm weary
singing from the windows
something to tell my baby
these songs could easily have been part of a dave solo album as they don't really fit the sound of the band. and there are probably a couple others that could be included in this as well:
mercy
if only
do you remember
come tomorrow
come on come on
thats an entire album right there. that could have been released separately and then songs like bismark, sugar will, shotgun, etc could have been added to the band albums.
