Atlantic Palace is a decent hotel. The few times I was there, they were nice sizes rooms. I think some even have kitchens in them.

Again, the best bar in the city is the Irish Pub. The outside patio is directly across the street from the Atlantic Palace which is a plus.

If anyone was looking for a cheap place to stay, the Irish Pub also has rooms upstairs from the bar. I'm not sure what they look like but here's a price list for the weekend.
The thing is, the cheaper rooms have community bathrooms.
    $40 a night for a single room.
    $55 for a double occupancy.

$90 for a double occupancy has a private shower.
    Phone is 609-344-9063

    Morning Kids!

My first post here....maybe someone can answer me a few simple Q's??

    Atlantic City event....

    Can you enter n leave?

Do you have to camp out?

I only ask as I live maybe 25-30min away....The wife wanted to go but not camp....so we would simply enter concert area at whatever time...then after shows ...leave to go home...fresh shower n bed....return the next day??

Anyone know if this is something doable or is it camping only??

Looking forward to a Good Tiiime!!

Yes.. A.c is bad but its not fucking Camden. There's a bunch of pussies on this board, its main roads to the concert which are going to be filled bypeople going to the concerts. When people say a.c is bad, yes it looks like shit and don't walk down an alley with a skirt on, but you got to have a huge vagina to be scared to walk with a group of people there from the boardwalk, especially when the town knows there is an event of 75000 people down the road

NBC 4 in NYC this morning. DMB, Bader Field, and June concert where 60,000 people are expected all in one sentence. There is a possibility that G Love is one of the weekend acts.

They usually have a singe day option, with buying a weekend pass being the most cost effective.

No one will know how they're working these paticular events though, until that coveted announcement.

I'll be flying out there from Chicago. I'm not really seeing any flights to AC with reasonable times/prices so I'm thinking of flying into Philadelphia or Newark. Would it be easy to take public transportation from either Philadelphia or Newark to AC, or would renting a car be my best option?

Just booked 4 nights (Thurs-Mon) at the Red Roof Inn for $86/night. I'm sure it'll be pretty crappy but it's just a place to sleep after all and the location is good.

I've stayed there. It's not dead body terrible, but it reeked of heavy, heavy cleaner... Like they were trying to cover something up. And the carpets were damp.

I guess it COULD be worse than that. It's 100% refundable, so if I find something better for a decent price I can always just cancel. Thanks for the info (I think)!

Before reading all of this thread, I just booked a room at the Bluegreen @ Atlantic Palace.

Price for 2 nights for a studio size room (with a queen bed and queen pull-out couch) was $328 including taxes. Price for 2 nights in a one bedroom suite would have been $408.

First night charged to card now, 72-hour cancellation policy where first night charge will be refunded back to you given you notify in time.

Guaranteed ocean-front room. Each room has a Jacuzzi tub, kitchen area (this is what they told me at least). Hotel is located right at the beach.

Seems decent to me. 1.7 miles to Bader field... might be a long walk if it's super hot, but I'm hoping taxis or shuttles may be running. If worse comes to worse, could drive to the field but I feel that would be a waste.

You can check out pics, floor plans, etc. here:
    http://www.bluegreenonline.com/explo...x?ResortID=102

It's also around the corner from this Irish Pub people have been mentioning!

    =)

Following-up to this... I just called them to see if they honor AAA (I forgot to ask when I first booked) and they do... My room total w/tax and fees has been reduced to $299.82.

there is mass transit to AC from NYC i'm pretty sure, there's a stop in AC. not sure if it goes from Newark though.

you'd have to check the NJ Transit site for more info on that.

You can check out pics, floor plans, etc. here:

It's also around the corner from this Irish Pub people have been mentioning!

    =)
Also booked this hotel last night. 4 nights, Thursday-Sunday, $550.00 .... You do have to pay to park here though ... Will be about 60 bucks for parking for the 4 nights ... worth it though, for a decent hotel that's also close to Bader.
