That's definitely a pretty unique show. My initial reaction was that I'd rather have something from the earlier portion of the tour, but that really is a nice looking set. One of the reasons I want a show from 2003 though is because of the more diverse sets they played in June and July. Even though the sets were still good in September, they were really pulling from all over their catalog prior to that. After June and July, September felt a bit mailed in. A couple of examples below:

Yeah, it's probably hard to go wrong with any show from 2003. I'm pretty much ok with any show from before 2004 because of the Stand Up material in the setlists, and i feel like that's when Dave's voice became tough to listen to. Not saying I won't buy a later release ever.. but it's going to have to be compelling. I feel like there's a sweet spot from 98-04 where I'll probably buy anything they put out in that range.

Edit / Side note - Have we had a '99 release? Might be something cool in there. We need a 1997 release, and I'd probably love to get something from 2007. Dreaming Tree was so good on that tour.

One problem (if you want to call it a problem) with late 2003 was they started honing in on playing songs that were going to be a part of the Central Park show.

They were very tightly played, but incredibly predictable sets.

There has been some solid 2003 talk, but the show I want the most is the 9-11-2003 show. Something about that show was just special. I listen to it ever year on Sept 11th. I'd love a quality release of this show.

Unless you know something I don't know, I don't like the odds that any '93 show, especially one with a #34, was multitracked. Yes, some were, but I thought that they rarely were multitracked from that year. Unless I'm wrong about this show. I would LOVE to be wrong.

I don't think there's any "general consensus" about what's next, there have definitely been a lot of people who think it will be that Cville show, but as far as I've seen, nobody really knows. Cville wasn't the greatest show ever, but I'm pining for a show I've been to to get the Live Trax treatment, a blu-ray/cd release of this show would make me happy.

It's a really good show, but I think there are better from 2016, and I think as a 25th anniversary show it missed the mark a tad. By missed the mark I mean there should have been WAY more homage paid to Leroi Moore. Other than a quick "this is for the GrooGrux King" and then Why I Am was played, there was no mention of Roi. I thought that was a MASSIVE oversight on their part. Roi was an enormous player in what made DMB the band it is and at a show celebrating their 25 years as a band they do nothing to honor his memory but play Why I Am? I thought that was incredibly lame. there should have been some kind of tribute to him at some point.
