    I like smooth rider (at 3 minutes long, not 13 minutes long) packs a quick nice little punch. I feel like if this song had stuck to 3 minutes or so from its live inception it would be treated much more favorably around here.

    The version of The Stone from 9/2/2000 might be the best version of all time. And it was the only song of the encore that night. That's how you end a show.

    not sure if this is unpopular

    but with the two sets format, my ideal setlist would include two step in the acoustic and electric set. that song is just so damn good in every form.
    id even be happy if it opened dave and tim, then was played full band acoustic, then ended the electric set

    and i dont care if its mumbling intro, improv, time bomb or whatever.
    this song is so damn amazing in any form at any point in the setlist
