"Remember Two Things: Love your mother, and leave only your footprints..."
You all know DMB’s debut album, but did you know that the band released the album on their own label, Bama Rags, with catalogue number Bama 001 back in 1993? The band actually released three albums on Bama Rags - this version of Remember Two Things, (Pumpkin) Recently and the regular Recently - before being signed by an official record label, releasing UTTAD in 1994.
There is no difference between this, the Bama 001, and the later released (1997) version of the same CD. But to the DMB collector/completionist there is something quite special about owning this, the band’s very first release. The Bama 001 CD does not pop up very frequently on trading sites, but can still be purchased at a reasonable price when it does. This is your chance to own a very special part of DMB history.
The cover has a quite special feature; it is a stereogram, and if you look “through” the dots on the artwork, you might suddenly be able to see a hand making a peace sign; so remember two things when you listen to the record: “Love your mother, and leave only your footprints”.
Many of the songs on the album are recorded live in studio, showcasing excactly what the band does best: playing and toying with their songs live, which, to many, has been the band’s strength since 1993.
This record is so good because of many things, but perhaps mostly because you get to hear how the band sounded in the early days and, making it an important piece of DMB history.
