Boyd will be used as the fiddle player along as the actual jig dancer. I’ve accepted he probably won’t be back, but I wouldn’t be surprised if he is back at some point this summer knowing how unpredictable this band is.

Honestly, as long as they have a fiddler on stage this summer who can play, I’ll be content.

Wrong. I never said he'd be back this summer. He and the band never said he wouldn't either, which makes people like you that say 100% its not happening just logically and factually wrong, unless you have other information which you don't. You saying your position is "the only assumption" does not make it right or even grounded in any reality. It's really not debatable.

No.. I put no percentage to anything. It's not factually wrong to believe that he won't be back this summer. It's the only assumption that makes any kind of sense given what the man himself has said. Anything else is wishful thinking and conjecture. That's a far cry from saying he 100% won't be back. My point is.. take what he said at face value, and leave the rest alone.. you'll be happier and not disappointed when he doesn't show up this summer.

It's not logically wrong at all. In my opinion, formed by the words of Boyd and the band, I'm 100% sure he won't be on stage this summer. Your position is the one not grounded in reality.

As I said I could be wrong but yes, I don't believe there is any chance Boyd plays with them on this tour. I don't see the point of sending out that tweet, at the time he did, if he had any belief he would be playing with them.
I'm not saying it's impossible but at this point I don't see how someone could think otherwise. I'm really interested though as to see if he'd play if they are inducted to the rock and roll hall of fame.

This is interesting and it corroborates dre's posts from back when the news broke that the band knew about this long before the announcement.

If you're going to quote me, don't eliminate the context in what you bold to make your own point. I said -

"The only assumption we should make is that he will 100% not be there at any show this summer."

So to spell out the obvious, which you clearly can't comprehend, is that you should ASSUME he will not be there all summer... so you won't be disappointed when he's not.

That's not a prediction on my part, that's clearly not a representation of anything Boyd or the band said... that's me saying you or anyone else shouldn't bank on Boyd coming back. That way you won't be disappointed when he does.

Don’t doubt that your friend was told this but I think it’s safe to say that it’s not true considering Boyd has been on their DMB promos since December.

And this is the reason people don’t post info as often. Sharing information I heard to the community to interpret/discuss on a fan message board to continue the current discussion. Look at my past posts, I don’t post often or pointless stuff. Go troll somewhere else.

All it means is that Boyd was contemplating the decision, and they knew it was a possibility.... Plus, the whole friend of a friend of a friend thing. I don't think it's a dispute to say they knew Boyd was on the fence, so even if it's true, sounds like they were preparing for it, and were pushing him to make a decision earlier.

Sorry this isn't trolling. It's entirely possible that you're speaking truthfully, and someone else in the chain mixed up some information and it got to you erroneously. It's hearsay and not a reflection on you if it's not true.

You mean someone like me? Based on how much I care and follow this band I should be posting far more often. Sorry, when I hear someone say they “heard it from a guy who knows a guy” I don’t take it as legitimate.

Shit, by posting that did I just affect the future participation rate of Ants moving forward? I wouldn’t want to scare anyone off.

LN/TM promos are planned well in advance. They probably required advanced notice. Management had no reason to exclude Boyd from their own promos until after the announcement.

People keep over looking certain posts that were made in this thread.

Those posts are just more hearsay.

No one has overlooked anything. This is the same thing over and over. Bottom line - if you’re that sore over what you think the band did, then take all this supposed definitive evidence, and go get your money back. If not, then quit obsessing and just enjoy the shows.

Yeah. And if you've got a pair of SPCA N2s that you want to get rid of out of anger about Boyd's absence, I'll buy them from to alleviate your disappointment and frustration.

Those posts are just more hearsay.

No one has overlooked anything. This is the same thing over and over. Bottom line - if you’re that sore over what you think the band did, then take all this supposed definitive evidence, and go get your money back. If not, then quit obsessing and just enjoy the shows.
The intention of my post was just to point out that there is good information in this thread and people seemingly ignore/overlook it. There is still an ongoing narrative that the decision was last minute.

And my point is it’s just more hearsay feeding into this mass hysteria.

Dude, disagreeing with you is not conspiracy theory or mass hysteria. We're all using the same facts, which is not many, which is why there is a discussion. Settle down on the hyperbole and putting words in people's mouths.
