The horn outro to If Only is the best part of the song. Dave's lyrics I could take or leave, but the arrangement is just weird to me. Never been a fan of it. The only AFTW songs I listen to regularly are Belly Belly Nice, Sweet, Snow Outside, and The Riff.

I just listened to the Ocean and the Butterfly for the first time. Love the guitar on it, kind of gives me a Recently vibe. I like Windows and Ocean better than anything on Come Tomorrow so far, save for VITR.

If Only is a total slog with a boring verse and chorus melody, pretty boring Carter (relative to Carter), and Dave's worst lyrics on Away from the World.

Interesting.. But you are right the breakdown/chorus is very much like the Recently turnaround from the verse into the chorus.. G F C maybe a b flat.

Aw. really I think it's a lovely song. Not a top DMB song by any means.. the studio version is lacking something for sure.. But I thought the 2012 performances of it were top notch.. It can drag on a bit, but that's my only gripe.

Here's to a new album in 2023 everyone! They had a FULL year to work on new material record it and release it.. And they dropped the ball. I guarantee it's getting reworked.. No good can come if it's sitting on the shelf while they go on tour...

Because Lillywhite was always a better engineer than a producer. He also got insanely to work with U2 so early when they had billions of ideas and were so obsessed with being the biggest band in the world.
