***Official Virginia Beach 2022 Thread***

Our local venue is JLL, but it can be a bear. We're thinking the Beach might be our VA show if we hit any for the summer.

Who else might be going and where're you staying?

We got an AirBNB a few miles from the venue. But goodness, hotels are outrageous. I looked at VA Beach, Norfolk, Hampton, Chesapeake, etc. Couldn't find anything reasonable. Almost booked Emporia 1.5 hours west on the way back home but we found a good AirBNB. This venue is really far out there if you're coming from anywhere but the north.

We live in northern VA and usually go to VA Beach several times a year during the off season(s). We generally avoid it in the summer because we don't want to pay 4X or more the reasonable cost of the room or deal w/ too much of the crowds. But going down there to see a show and NOT being on the waterfront is a rough proposition.

The only show we saw there so far was 2018 and I let the other shows we saw from that tour and set list watching get to my head and didn't let myself completely enjoy the song. Now I just go with the flow (for the most part). If we can get there, we will.

Staying at the Westin, have Marriott free stays that expire in 2022 so went with most expensive in chain and close to venue as I could lol

Yeah, we just missed putting in for VA Beach, but about 1 1/2 minutes last week. We had pits for 2020, but got refunded and didn't get to the show in 2021. Still not sure how many shows we'll get to hit this year...

I grabbed an AirBnB that is walking distance (20-30 min walk) from the venue. I saw in the reviews that people have stayed here before and walked to the amphitheater. Should be awesome to not have to worry about driving this time. It's very affordable, but the place looks good for a night or two stay. There are at least 3 other rooms still available in this same group AirBnB house for Friday/Saturday that weekend. Search that weekend on the map and you can find all 3 rooms that are still available.

Would love it if my housemates for that weekend were all DMB nuts there for the show, as well!

Holy crap hotels on the beach are expensive.
Was thinking of getting a hotel on the strip for a few days and enjoy the beach but we might have rethink that plan.

Summer on the beach is like gas prices...supply and demand, with demand dictating super high prices. That said, even the off season remained relatively expensive through the fall and winter.

Will be my first show at this venue next week. It’ll be my girlfriends first show (not that anyone should care but everyone always to make shows about them and their milestones) and we are making a beach vacation of it.

I guess what I want to know: how is lawn compared to like Blossom, Starlake and Montage (Scranton)?

Anyone have info / reviews of the Party Deck 201c upgrade at Veterans? Says bar stools and cash bar, looks to be behind sections 201 and 205 in corners. Just curious if it would be enjoyable for a bit? Or if people stay there the entire show…?

I can't speak for Blossom. Generally, lawns are lawns wherever you go. The makeup of fans might vary depending on what pocket of people you end up around. Asthetically, montage mountain is the best out of this set. The walk-in and out at montage is top 10 for livenation, easy. Va beach and starlake will give the same view/feel.

Va beach also has that no tailgating harassment (cops will just say to move along, then just move along themselves, as long as you arent acting crazy). Not sure if you wanted a heads up for non-lawn stuff. Va beach's tailgating is a notable factor when I plan it.

Hey guys- looking forward to the show on Saturday, this will be my second time in the PIT here at VA Beach Amphitheater. Does anyone know the difference between the ticket add on’s? VIP Club Access or The Sandbar? Looks like both offer a private bar and bathrooms- any recommendations between either one or even if they’re worth it?

Looking and hoping for just one WH Pit. After 25+ shows, finally did my first WH pit show and I'm hooked. Even enjoyed the early line-up getting to meet a ton of awesome DMB fans. Anyway, hoping to make it two this year. So looking for at least one WH PIT (but would gladly take 2 to bring along my 19yo son who was raised on DMB). Thanks in advance.
