Patience everyone. Just because there aren't rumored Camden dates doesn't mean there won't be a stop there or somewhere in the Philly market.
When was the last time DMB didn't play multiple nights in Philly/Camden during a normal full summer tour? 1997.

2021 doesn't count. It was far from normal and really a wasn't a full tour. Camden only got axed because the planned dates were before the reworked tour start date in July and the BB&T Pavilion wasn't open in June anyway due to the NJ covid capacity restrictions.

The only way I see a single show in the Philly market is if the "spring" arena dates are true and they play Wells Fargo Center. However, my hunch is that rumor doesn't happen and quite frankly, BB&T Pavilion is larger than Wells Fargo Center.... and money always matters.

If we don’t get an album announcement alongside tour dates, I’m inclined to believe there’s no album coming this year.

If they announce an album it will be interesting if they say "New Album Coming Soon" or "Singing from the Windows to the Wall a new Dave Matthews Band Album coming this summer."

Come tomorrow wasn't name during the 2018 tour announcement it was just called a New Album.

Given recent history this would probably make for a better tour

if they announce this tour as an album tour, no chance I'm traveling anywhere to see them. might check them out at burgettstown if my schedule allows.

if it's not an album tour, I'll try to book a weekend trip to seem them somewhere.

Potentially unless it's late June. Then they would likely tease us with "new album" in the works news and a picture of a black shiny toy rhino. and the actual announcement would be April .

From what Bruce said, the plan for album release that he heard was before the start of the summer tour, which would put it in April or early May.

concert noob, if an album tour, would they plan only songs on the new album? and they would announce it as so?

if not, what would the split generally be?

You would expect 6-8 album songs a night, so like 30-40% of the set.

Album tour is fine if the album doesn't suck. They don't have any equity with me that they are capable of making a good album. Not even a great one, just a good one.

They wouldn't play only new album songs, but there would be less songs from all other albums played during the tour.

If you take a look at some of the 1 night stand sets from 2018, when Come Tomorrow was released, you'll see that songs played from Come Tomorrow outweighed the songs played from their older albums.

    For instance, here's Hartford: http://dmbalmanac.com/TourShowSet.as...156&where=2018

As you can see on the sidebar, 5 Come Tomorrow songs were played that night, and that is two more than any other album.

That's give or take 1/4 of the set.

If you love the songs on the new album, it likely won't be a problem unless you're hitting a ton of shows in which case the variety may start lacking.

If you don't like the new songs, well expect about 1/4 of the set per night to be songs you don't like, and that's before taking into account whatever other songs you don't like that they play from their other albums (b/c we all know Dave isn't playing only his top tier songs in the non new album spots, lol).

People were happy with AFTW. I don't understand why people don't have equity they'd deliver something they've liked as much as AFTW.

As a studio album yes. The songs in heavy rotation in 2012 not so much. Mercy, Gaucho, and If Only were brutal live. Belly Belly was ok but overplayed.

Winter 2012 Tour Stop I saw in Mohegan had a few gems but was mostly meh. The May Hartford N1 and the next N2 I regret skipping were bright spots in that part of the tour though.

From what we've heard, this is shaping up to be a very good album. If that's the case, then this could be a great tour. But yeah there's no doubt that this year (assuming we get the album) will be new-songs-heavy. Personally, I'm still going to try to hit a few shows because 1.) I like the new songs so far, and 2.) who knows which songs will disappear or become super rare so I'd like to see as many as I can while they are in abundance.

2012 and 2018 tours (minus a few shows, re: Alpine 2012 which was epic) were for the most part forgetful.

Excited for a new album but if it comes out before the tour, don't expect incredible sets.

AFTW was released 10 years ago this September and was made with a producer who pushed them. We have no reason to believe this next album will be anything more than CT Pt II. Madman's Eyes is good. Ocean and the Butterfly & Windows are nice little quiet tunes. I'm not a fan of Walk Around the Moon and The Only Thing is super forgettable.

Knowing Dave, they'll abandon the road tested tunes aside from maybe Windows and pump out a bunch of "love you wifey" tunes.

I hope like hell i'm wrong.

I prefer AFTW to BW and definitely to CT. I like the sound Lillywhite gets out of them - especially from Boyd.

Broken Things, Snow Outside, Sweet, Baby Blue, Spaceman, Why I Am, American Baby, Hello Again, Black & Blue Bird, Idea of You, & Virginia In The Rain are all welcomed by me at a show. If we want to get into B-Sides... Sugar Will, Joy Ride, Write a Song, & Beach Ball all make the cut too.

But at least they got away from repeating six or seven songs on both nights of a two night stand like they did with “Stand Up” and “Big Whiskey” though.

Re: 2022 Tour Rumors / Confirmations (See First Post for Latest Update)

I have very low expectations for the new album... from what I have heard I am not impressed by any of the new songs really. Walk around the moon is fairly good and I love what they did with Sweet. Not a fan of Mad Mans eyes... listening to Rashawns backup vocals is just atrocious and ruins the song for me. It be nice if they put an album out of more than 10 songs or at least song times over 4 or 5 mins a piece. Not having Boyd really changes the dynamic of the tunes and not sure how I feel how Buddy will sound on the new album.

I do not see them dropping the album with the tourdate announcement... maybe they will release a single and mention new music coming in the future.
