I never go into the Prompter thread, wish I had known about the Cameo videos. Would have loved to help out with that. RIP Roger.

I’m a pretty easy crier, but damn. Those videos got me.
Loved the j peterman. It was fantastic. And definitely brought on the tears.

Thanks for putting these together, Adam, and for sharing them with us. I wish he could have seen them, and I hope you’ve found a way to share them with his family.

You’ll be missed, Roger. May you rest easy, and be free of pain. Hope Traj was waiting for you on the other side.

So I am now in contact with his sisters. They are very thankful for what we did. I have shared the videos with them (not Bree though).

    His sister Courtney said this:
His services are Wednesday and Thursday. If there is anything you’d want said, I could make sure and say it.

So let me know. We could submit something or nothing at all. Up to us.

I just spent the past two plus hours in Roger's getting reacquainted thread and I'm going to need a few moments to recover from that. And no, I didn't click on the pictures or listen to the voicemails. I didn't know tags were a thing but holy moly. Roger, thanks for the entertainment.

Adam, thanks for sharing and thanks for doing this. Everyone involved in the idea, well done.

I didn’t know why Rog passing is hitting me so hard. I only had a few interactions with him thru the years. Never had the chance to meet him. And I’ve been a little more absent on these boards the last few.

But I think I figured out what was really hitting me, it’s all of you. Not sure how many of you have described these boards to friends. I’m a little older than most on here I’m sure, I’m 43, so trust me when I tell you that most of my friends don’t understand this place at all. My ex wife was.....not a fan.

But seeing this. Hearing these stories of people meeting up with him, and knowing my own experiences of meeting up with people from here is hitting me. Even feeling like I know a bunch of you but have never met you is quite telling to me. This place may be dumb to most, and we all argue more than anything (right Rog?) but I have always felt a pretty deep feeling of comradery around here and this proves it.

I don’t want to take away from Roger, but I think it shows we are all one. And it tells us all to do things with some passion. I know Roger fought those people thinking he was possibly mistreating his dog with a passion, and he argued with most of us with a passion, and dammit he got stalked by some creepy old worker with an absolute passion.

    Here’s to you Mr. Converse.

Just watched the Cameos, they were great. I’m really sad he didn’t get to see them.

It was awesome that you guys put this together for him. My wife and I have both battled cancer over the past couple of years and were the recipients of something like this from a bunch of our DMB friends and family. We all give each other a lot of shit and argue about shows, sports, politics, etc, but in the end the DMB community is a caring and extremely generous one. Kindness like this really means a lot to people and you really did something great here.

completely agreed. there are two forums that i've been on for nearly 2 decades now, this one and another. they're like homes to me. yet all i really know about the people on them is screen names and their posts. but it truly feels like you know someone after interacting with them for years, even if its in a digital fashion.

its heartbreaking to hear about roger's passing even though i never actually met him. it's a testament to the community that we have here.

nice work putting those videos together

You always think they'll pull through. I've had a weird feeling the past few days knowing that he didn't. So much of his life left unlived. He shoulda had so much more. He and I didn't see eye to eye on political stuff but he had a great sense of humor and fucking loved seinfeld as much as I did. I was the one who started calling him Milos.

    Fuck cancer.

Great game, Milos. May you stay undefeated wherever you go.

Cool to read the comments in that obituary by some of his coworkers.

Makes me think about all the pockets or strands of people each of have us in our lives. Most of us here only knew Roger in a very internet-y way, but look how strongly we've responded to his passing. That feeling is just magnified the closer you get to friends and family he knew in real life.

Embarrassingly, my mind is a little blown that his last name was Converse. For some reason I had always assumed that was somehow a reference to the shoe brand.
