I think it's more likely there was just some major technical issue with the recording that made it non-releasable, which I can see evolving into 'damaged' as it went through the rumor mill.

I sat behind the videography/soundboard at the show. Happened to land the last two tickets at the ticket booth with nobody else in line. Randomly drove to Lafayette and just lucked out. Anyhow, I’ll never forget one of the videographers comments “is this guy going to play all night or something?” And he was serious. He seemed pissed. And Dave gave a nasty look to the videographer on stage at one point during song because the camera was right up in his face. Between songs Dave commented and made a joke about it, acting like somebody let go of some gas on stage and it smelt like shit up there. Anyhow, zero chemistry between the film crew and Dave/Tim. And as a side note, Dave f’d up cry freedom. So not sure how that would be spliced together. There was an official comment at some point, from somewhere that the film was harmed to a point of not being recoverable. My guess, one too many issues they would have had to deal with from several different dynamics to make the release happen. I’m guessing they have the film, but chalked it up as a learning lesson, and looked forward to rcmh 2007. (Which I was also at! Lol)
The show was incredible. The everyday and Dave’s tiny little talk about war (a war that had just started) during the intro (from what I remember) is probably my biggest takeaway. But an amazing night. Surely surpassed rcmh just imho. I felt like I had chills the entire night. And you could hear a pin drop pretty much all night. It’s a majical room. Which is why they chose to film their.
