I sat directly behind the stage for the James Brown show, lower bowl, it was fucking awesome! Not only do you get an interesting perspective being behind/side stage, but it’s kinda cool being able to take in crowd reactions simultaneously. I guess it depends what you like, I would much rather be centered than close for a Phish MSG show, but rather be close than centered for a DMB MSG show.

What is the name of the bar near MSG that is best for pregaming for DMB. I can't remember the name was it Grants or something? Anyone got suggestions?

Mustang Harry's next to MSG has been popular every time they band has played MSG. There might be others as well.

Stout is a popular one for pre-msg shows. I don't love it. Mustang Harry's was already mentioned. Last year we did Keg Room which I enjoyed.

It's the poster for that night of the tour, not the general tour poster that doesn't change.

I always go to Stout out of tradition but it gets PACKED.

Walters across 8th ave from Haymaker (awesome dive very closeby, gets crowded)

If you're a craft beer person, go to The Grand Delancey on the Lower East Side . Its the best beer bar in NYC, you will find beers you've likely never had before. Is it close to MSG ? no. Does that matter? no Is it worth the ~$20-25 uber? Yes
