Right, that's not her. That's the lady who wrote the original letter saying that.

The woman who is getting referred by Grassley is someone trying to impersonate the 'Jane Doe' that wrote the letter.

I was confused at first too. Read the letter from Grassley and it makes clear that it's two different people. One is making an accusation and the other was pretending to be the lady making the accusation.

Maybe semantics or me not correctly recalling the Jane Doe letter but I don't recall any accusations for all out rape, just sexual misconduct. With the email subject line stating that he raped her, it seems like she's piling on. Again though, if the Jane Doe letter acutally accuses him of rape and not misconduct then I'm just misremembering.

Regardless, I stand by my point that I made a while back when I said people inject themselves into situations all the time for the craziest shit. Having said that a while back, a lot of the replies were "who would ever lie or come froward about something like this?" Well, here we are.

The point should be who wrote the letter. But, I agree that a woman like this impersonator only helps to muddy the waters for the credible accusers that were brave enough to come forward.

The only issue I'd have about finding out who the author is would be their request for anonymity.

Behind the scenes, I think Pelosi is great for dems, specifically in terms of fundraising. In terms of her becoming speaker again, I just think it kind of flies in direct contrast to what a lot of liberals, especially younger ones, want to see in leadership. And, I mean "see" literally. She's old, white, rich, and in goverment forever. Her only saving grace from that is the fact that she's a woman.

I'd also add that it certainly seems that democrats are relying on young voters to pull them through in the midterms. If they do, then do you really want to put her up as speaker? At this point, she may be better served as calling the shots from behind the curtain so to speak.

Of course it wouldn't matter. Trump could drop the n-word multiple times tomorrow and a majority of Trump supporters wouldn't even bat an eye; they just wouldn't care. The people who would care are already not voting for him. I know some Trump supports and any evidence of him being a racist would not change a thing.

It would be, "oh he didn't mean it in a racist way" and SHS would give a press briefing about how it's all the media's fault and that the president is under a ton of pressure.
