I want to go to space. What did you need again, was it $250 million for a private ride?

I need to check my bank account...not sure if I have enough.

For some reason I've been all about the spacex and starlink launches lately. I never was much of a space person, but something about the frequency of them and accessibility with them all streaming. Plus I love it when they land their rockets on the drone ships.

Everytime I see there's a new launch I set a reminder to watch them. Hoping for good weather today.

The other thing I got into was https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/ where you can put in your location and find out when you could get a good look at the ISS. I've done it a handful of times and when I finally got my wife to see one she thought it was pretty cool too. Saw it really well the other night on a good clear dark sky.

I've always been casually into space exploration etc. I think my interest really took off during the Columbia disaster. I can remember clear as day watching Myles O'Brien on CNN in my basement as it all unfolded.

Space and the exploration of is all so awesome (in the literal sense) and fascinating. We have a 3 year old who is super jacked about all things space these days too so that has certainly heightening my own excitement. Once he gets a better grasp on the fact that people are actually living in space on the ISS (that is still a bit of a brain buster for him) I will certainly use that tool to show him when we can.

It's currently raining in Orlando with dark skies all around. Looks really dark to the north and to the east. Here's hoping.

Yeah, we debated taking an early day from work and driving towards the coast to watch, but it's not looking particularly promising.

Elon appears to be an asshole.

The stuff he (and his team) is doing with Tesla, SpaceX, SolarCity, and The Boring Company are real exciting though.

I'm a huge enthusiast of all things astronomy and space exploration. Every so often the ISS will line up in front of the moon or sun from a viewing point on earth, and it looks incredible. Doesnt take too big of a telescope for a good viewing, and obviously you need to use a proper solar filter for daytime viewing.

I'm in west Orange county and usually I can see the trail as they ascend, so nothing like being closer to Titusville, but it's still pretty dark in the direction I need to be looking.

Yeah, probably a tiny fraction of the amount of time they've sat in that thing for training, though.

Ingress was about 2pm, so 2.5 hours so far. Another ~4 it seems before they can leave.
