Right? Dave has his own styling and his finger placement is unique to him as a player. That was one of my biggest takeaways from trying to learn a couple of DMB songs. Super active while singing.

Which - influence has to be taken into consideration for the HOF. I bet acoustic/acoustic-electric guitar sales at least tripled post Crash/Streets/Luther College. Then there were all the "Dave Esque" artists that kept popping up in the early 00's.

Taking everything across the board into consideration, I think DMB is totally a shoo in for the HOF in 2020.

Agree his way of playing is definitely unique and there's a lot that can be learned from it, I've always been amazed by Dave's ability to play straightforward guitar parts so dynamically, his strumming hand throughout the Benaroya Hall show is ridiculous.

I asked this earlier in the thread and others said there is probably a clause that the band cannot perform within X amount of miles to the venue X amount of days before/after the event.


Also, they said that no other band has done shows before/after they were inducted either, so it seems very unlikely.

It doesn't make sense for any artist to perform a cover song if they get into the RNR HOF. Eliminating my opinion about the cover why wouldn't they play all original DMB songs? It would make more sense to play 3-4 hits then cover a song nobody from the band wrote.

AAtW would be a perfect song for the end jam, NOT as part of whatever “set” the band gets/plays. It’s something everyone could play along to, even DMB’s version. They’d play songs that established them, made them famous, and kept famous During their set....Watchtower is NOT one of those songs.

I agree. I think the Public Auditorium in Cleveland where the induction ceremony is held is really small... Probably a small allotment of tickets for fans, so it wouldn't be competing with another show held in the area. IMO, it's a no brainer to play Blossom that Thurs or Fri before the main event. It would draw more fans into Cleveland for the other RRHOF events that week.

This doesn't compare to playing a show at Summerfest, which would then exclude Alpine.

DDTW full band has been trash since tim added his absurdly loud harmonics and butch's keys parts left. Love the dave and tim versions and butch era versions but the full band version is ruined by the faster pace and loud electric guitar.

It's going to be their three most recognizable hits. Probably something like Satellite, Crash, and WWYS. I would put Space Between in place of WWYS, but is it more recognizable among non-fans? Then maybe either a shorter Crush or AATW for the all-star jam session to close out the evening.

Oh i get it but even an ants, crash into me, space between is better than how awfully horrible DDTW is. The original version was a favorite. The sped up be loud af the whole song modern version is everything i hate about the post roi band.
