Watched Black Panther yesterday and that has to be the most overrated film in the MCU. It's terrible. From a cultural standpoint, I see the significance but it's a boring movie. Michael B. Jordan is terrible, even though his actual character is interesting. The CGI is spotty and the story is dumb. The death fakeout was lame.

    Eh... it wasn't terrible.

But that story line has been done a million times. Most recently with Aquaman.

I couldn’t even get through black panther. I didn’t mind the character during infinity war though.

Yikes. I’ll give you the spotty CGI, though.

I love the BP character. Boswick does a great job too. I liked him in Civil War & Infinity War but the BP movie is disappointing.

Saw April 2nd somewhere.....but who knows at this point usually tickets coincide with final trailer which we already have.

Side note saw Captain Marvel a second time in Dolby Cinema (with the wife this time) and I definitely preferred the IMAX over the Dolby Cinema presentation. Just having the entire screen full for the IMAX scenes was worth it to me.

I usually buy them a couple hours before I walk into the theatre.

I’ve seen that April 2 rumor, it just seems so late in the game for a movie this big. I guess we’ll find out soon enough.

Not gonna be able to do that opening night with this one, especially considering the theater I go to has assigned seating.

I love going to opening nights because no one in the theater has any idea what's going to happen and the energy is high. I've been to opening nights for Last Jedi, Spider-Man Homecoming and Infinity War and they were all a blast.

Opening night for Star Wars movies is about it for me... and that's more just a tradition of going with my brother. It's a hell of a lot easier going to opening night nowadays though than it was 20 years ago with Ep. 1 came out. You don't even have to worry about getting there early to get a seat... assigned seating FTW.

It’s not really that. I just don’t want to be in a packed theatre regardless. Much easier just to avoid this thread and go a week later. We like to go to movie tavern. We can order a bottle of wine and watch. Selfishly I don’t want to be in a packed theatre where people are doing the same for a bunch of reasons. Waitresses running around frantically, people getting dumb etc. Also don’t want to be in a theatre with 65 kids either so going a week later to a later showing usually solves that issue.

Hit Spider-Man: Homecoming on our MCU rewatch today, first time I had seen it since the theater. Awesome, awesome flick. And I loved the Bat Signal Easter Egg when Vulture drops Spidey during their first encounter. Definitely didn't catch that the first time.

I went the second week for Captain Marvel for this reason. Theater was a good 60 percent packed.

Theater etiquette is dead though. Some dude who sat next to me took his 4 year old kid and explained the whole fucking movie to him the entire time.

Homecoming is great. Spidey is their best character right now. Holland does an amazing job.

I watched civil war with the wife last night. I kind of got her into these movies by watching homecoming. After homecoming we watched infinity war so she would be caught up with the spidey angle at least.

I then thought she would like antman and she did. She likes Paul Rudd, so we watched that then started antman and the wasp. 15 minutes into the wasp she had no idea why everyone hated ant man so we stopped there and put civil war on

Civil war was much better on the second watch for me but holy shit do I hate Captain America even more now. I don’t know if I was just tired or buzzed on first watch but I didn’t realize how big of a piece of shit he was in that movie until last night.

Yeah that’s the shit I want no part of. I get you want to take your kid to a movie though. Not much of a way around it except hoping people are not assholes about it.

We built a movie room and bought a popcorn machine so we do most of our flick watching here. Really no upside to going to the theatre for us but we will if it’s a movie we don’t want to wait for. Even then though they come out on digital so quick. We usually just end up waiting.

Yeah Cap got sanctimonious and douchey in Civil War. I feel like his redemption is coming in Endgame.

Tom Holland and Paul Rudd were both beyond perfect castings for their roles.

Am I the only one who though Homecoming was "meh" and the only redeeming part of the film was Keaton?

It seems to be a fairly divisive film overall. I know the biggest complaint was Stark being responsible for the suit, but that didn't bother me in the slightest.

I think it was ok fun, better than Amazing Spider-Man but not as good as Raimi or Spider-Verse
