Good thread...nice to have a place to honor and recognize his artistic talents and ignore the other stuff.

I remember my Mom went to a Home Interiors convention in Texas, and brought me back an MJ t-shirt and a gray pair of parachute pants. I loved those pants. Dude owned the 80s.

This is an absolutely staggering feat that doesn't even seem possible or real to me. I know it is, and that makes it all the more ridiculous.

    Re: Michael Jackson Appreciation Thread

I feel horrible that people that don't appreciate music only know Michael Jackson because of him becoming a creepy white person, Lisa Marie Presley, Neverland, and the questionable attention to children.

I choose to remember him for what he did for music. Jackson 5, his solo stuff up until the 90's, the music videos. It is real unfortunate that he was thrown onto the stage at such a young age and never was able to have a real childhood. His voice and his music was a gift. And yet, it was the fact that he never had a childhood that really messed him up.

R.I.P. Michael Jackson. Perhaps you just have to appreciate music or had to grow up listening to him to really appreciate what he did for pop music

I remember his as a kid in the Jackson 5 when I was a kid. I also remember him during the "Thriller" era, and that was a case of if you weren't there you wouldn't understand how HUGE he was.

His was a sad life, but the music of the first 1/2 of his life will not be forgotten. You can now rest in peace.
