If the stone is a 10 then Gaucho is a 7 or 8. But the stone is not a ten, more like an 8, so Gaucho is really a 5 or 6.

I gave it a generous 3. Dreamgirl is definitely a better tune, as is 95% of the band's catalog.

Went with 8 - it would have been a 9 if not for the weird kids screaming at the end. Really awesome, intense song.

Also this was awesome last night. As soon as Dave said, this is something new and we'd already heard Mercy, I got excited. Then he started playing that riff. Great song.

Really love the studio version. I think the live version needs more time to breathe and expand, but as it is, great song. Most promising studio track I've heard from them in a very long time. Perfect use of all the members.

I'm liking the music, quite a bit. The 'chorus' lyrics are... well, borderline pointless. I mean, if Dave's goal is to get people to act rather than sit around and "believe;" wouldn't he be able to come up with something more inspiring than that chorus?

I thought the heavy electric guitar a couple minutes in, and the kids at the end were a little odd/out of place... Not necessarily a bad thing, I'm just not sure what they added.

I'm thinking a 5 or 6... Musically more interesting than say, American Baby; but when even American Baby's chorus has more oomph, you know you chorus is lacking something.

After several more listens, I'm really digging this song. If Mercy and Gaucho are worst the new album has to offer, we're in for a fantastic album all around.

i've completely changed my opinion on this song. it's pretty awesome.

the production is especially astounding. the drumming is also just flat out world class.

beyond excited for this album. I've gone from a rating of 6 to 8, maybe 9 overnight

I kind of like Gaucho but after hearing Mercy live I have to say it sucks.

If they are the worst of the album then awesome but they could just as easily be the best. Hopefully worst!

I think more than anything, people just want this band to put out solid music like they used to. And that just continues to not happen. Give me new, give me different. I just want some solid, creative tunes with lyrics that aren't half-assed or cheesy.

Really? If we are talking about "cheesy" lyrics, then "I would dig a hole all the way to China" is inexcusable. Musically, Gaucho is miles ahead of Dreamgirl. So I respectfully disagree with that assessment.

It took 2 listens, but I love it. This and Mercy (full Band) are a great way to get me (at least) excited for the new album. These are great, great songs.

Gave it an 8 (but would have gone with 7.5 if it were an option).

6...Honestly I think it had great potential to be an amazing song and just needed a little more work. The beginning is great and then when it hits the chorus, the whole song just falls flat and seems lazy. I dont so much mind the "change the world" theme but Dave's creative way of getting the message across isnt there. Verse lyrics are good and the overall experimental sound is great. This song could be a monster live after it gets a little stage time and the band gets to mess around with it. Lillywhite should've put this bun back in the oven for just a little longer and it could've been brilliant

I could really do without the singing children though...
