Plan on heading to this show after Tahoe. How is the venue? Looks to be plenty of hotels in the area. Any recommendations?

The venue is now basically surrounded by the Google campus.

The lawn is gigantic. The venue holds around 22,000, iirc.

There's ample parking. A huge dirt lot and some smaller paved ones.

Can't help with hotel rec's. I'm on the opposite side of the Bay.

    See you all there!

Hopefully getting lowers won't be as awful as it was last time around.

There's hotels nearby within driving distance. I hope I did this right:

I have a love/hate relationship with shoreline....I saw my first DMB and D&T shows at shoreline....but I HATE THE LAWN and I'm never willing to pony up for the bowl. It's just not my favorite venue.

With that being said...I'll be going with my 2 best friends and my GF for her first Dave show. She's not exactly a fan, but I'll convert her

Not a fan of Shoreline and was disappointed this was chosen as the Bay Area venue this year. The lawn is huge but if you get reserved seats, unless you get really up close it can be difficult to see the stage (there are no huge screens beside the stage...at least there weren't any the last time Dave played there...hopefully that's changed). I've been in the Warehouse for MANY years and was still seated so far back it was difficult to see. Hoping our experience is better this year...especially since it is such a long drive!

Got option to purchase a pair in Sec 202 and went with it. Briefly saw a pair in Sec 101 show up but they were gone by time I tried to purchase.

Will probably roll the dice during the public on-sale to see if any non Platinum 100 level tix show up.

Lawn blows; very bad views from most of it. The seats and concourse area are cool though. Don’t plan on tailgating in the lots. No booze allowed and the cops there don’t abide by the “ignore it if it’s in a cup” rule. They will check your cup and make you pour it out.

Hotels are basically all the same business basic type deal in that town, so don’t bother ponying up a bunch of money for something “nicer”. Just grab something cheap off Kayak or Hotwire.

Were you able to see the seats by the map? If so, how?

edit - looks like the map view is available now. Wasn't there when I was trying to pull tickets.

Same. Eventually pulled 201 row Q 1 time and then lawns several times. That’s it. Didn’t buy anything

    NEW RECORD!!!!!

Honestly, I'm pumped. For me, DMB is an opportunity to relive the high school days with my two best friends.

Out of the 12 (soon to be 13 shows) I've attended, at least one of them has joined me for 7 of them, with both attending 4.

It all began back in 2007 with the Shoreline show and (who we'll call) BF#1. We didn't know what we were getting into, but that show changed my life. It was only the 2nd concert I had ever been to and my mind was COMPLETELY BLOWN.

2008, for N1 of the Greek shows, BF#1 and I got in line at 8 AM and ended up with a front row spot slightly right of center (by 1 or 2 people) so we could see Carter. Ended up catching a drumstick (should be read as 'I'm taller and it was supposed to go to a short girl I didn't see...thankfully Carter noticed and tossed her another. SORRY IF THAT WAS YOU!!!)!! I did N3 solo, which was a phenomenal and emotionally charged show also. I missed the Gold Sax poster by 2 people

2009 was the Outside Lands year. My other best friend (we'll call him BF#2) was in on the action this time. We pulled the all nighter, got to Golden Gate Park at about 4 AM, and sat in line till the gates opened. Ended up with the front corner spot right off the rail and held it the entire day. When Dave started, we lit a blunt and the wind started blowing it towards him. At the end of "Why I Am", he looked at us and said "Ya'll smell good tonight." Sorry for the 2nd hand buzz dave!

2010 Shoreline was the first show I had both of them come with. I had just seen them the night before in Marysville (which was a FANTASTIC show) so we were amped...little did I expect the bucket list run of songs to start the show.

From that show on, I made it a point that at least one of them was in attendance with me.

It's become a tradition for us to see Dave. We don't listen to his music regularly anymore, and we definitely aren't super fans that require us to get front row anymore. We're older, we don't care as much anymore....but these shows (and the ones I haven't mentioned) are memories that keep our friendship together.

That's neat. It's cool to have traditions like that.

I can relate a bit, too. One friend and I have seen DMB/D&T almost once a year since I moved to California in the mid-2000s.

These "Official Platinum" tickets are crazy.... They want nearly $800 for a pair deep in the back of reserved seating. These tickets are cheaper on Stubhub!

It was 115, 85, 49.50. And 115 isn’t so special, I’m one of the last rows in the upper middle section.

I remember 115 being lowers. I requested 115 and I'm in the last row of seats. Shouldn't we have paid less?

Yeah I'm LIVID. This happens every single time at Shoreline which is one of the main reasons I hate this venue. 18 year Warehouse member here and was placed at the back of the reserved section and paying $115 per ticket. For comparison, my Houston tickets (tour opener!) are at the very front of the reserved section. I don't know WHY this happens every year at Shoreline but it does (and why don't i learn??). I really thought when I was confirmed at the $115 level it would mean we were in the 100s section but NOPE. So stupid.
