I'm in GA and I honestly don't know if we have a state mandate for masks. People either wear them or don't at all places. I went to my local board game shop last night and they happened to be hosting a game night at the time. There were maybe 40 people there playing a couple different games and 3 or 4 had masks on.
Having the mask mandate lifted just gives people a mind set that’s is ok not to wear a mask in a public place.

    Precisely.

Yeah its a mixed bag here in my county. My kids baseball games look like 2018. There are 14 kids sitting in my study hall right now 3 are wearing a mask.

I think at this point trying to fine someone for not wearing a mask, if thats what mandates did, is pointless. I also disagree with Tyler. At this point with Covid people are behaving how they see fit. I dont think anyone is wearing a mask in public or not wearing one because the govt says something. Its just more faux outrage over something that was never effective being lifted.

I have the 7.27.19 show streaming on YouTube and after Jimi Thing (Stayin Alive, Back in Black, Fly Like an Eagle) Dave says thank you to the crowd and says something along the lines of "its nice to see we can get 20,000 people in one place nothing too bad happen. If we're gonna spread a disease, lets spread that one." Boy, if he had only known.

My money is on 2022. John Mayer gave this:

John Mayer recently took some time to appear on his pal Andy Cohen’s Radio Andy program, and it was a matter of time before the conversation made its way to the subject of Dead & Company. The guitarist noted that he’s looking at an impending Dead & Company tour with a sense of optimism, but he and the band want to be sure it’s done safely.
“Look, there’s no reason to sort of be veiled about. If we can [tour] we definitely will,” Mayer told Cohen. “I don’t think anybody wants to put up another tour and take it down… It starts looking like ’22 is the only way you can really start booking stuff and be sure that you wouldn’t have to write that Instagram post that goes, ‘Guys, we really talked this over …’”

They should wait until 2023, it would be saferer.

“I hope we’ll be back pretty soon.”

“I actually think it’s gonna happen,” Trey said regarding his and Phish’s comeback. “We have lots of conversations about it and the landscape is changing … slowly, but there’s an end in sight assuming that everyone continues taking this seriously.”

“I can’t say specifics, but I’ve heard specifics,” Anastasio teased. “I have a secret.”

So I just checked SPAC's event calendar (https://spac.org/calendar/calendar-of-events/) and DMB isn't listed. The first show according to their calendar is Chicago on July 18.

Not sure if this means anything.

there was a band that was going to play an outdoor show this past weekend (well, only 2 of them would play acoustically) in South Shore, MA and I think someone complained with the town about them playing, so they wound up playing instrumentally without singing due to "concerns with droplets." #PROGRESS!

I thought increasing capacity and lifting the mandate was premature, but I agree with what you say. I think in the big cities in TX, not much will change for the time being. I fully expect restaurants and grocery stores etc. will still require masks regardless of what the state is requiring.

We’ve already received notice from our ISD that they will not change their COVID policy though the end of the school year. Got a similar notice from SFA.

A couple of those seem a little iffy to me, but who knows? I put together some actual cities/dates for fun, but the general idea is what really matters here since its all speculation at this point:

    - Start at the Gorge and play through the rest of the 2021 tour as scheduled
    - Add some fall 2021 arena dates to hit markets that didn't get covered over the summer
    - Get back to a more traditional summer tour in 2022 (Texas back at the start of the tour/add Hartford back in since Mohegan shows can happen during fall 2021)

Ya'll do realize, that like I said a long time ago, even when Texas, Mississippi, Tennessee, whoever, say "we're a full go" DMB will be one of the last ones to schedule a show with a full venue. I'm not trying to start another argument about COVID. And I could be wrong bc he may take a green light from Democrats differently than if it came from a bunch of Republicans. Point being, states and venues opening up in June or July or whenever ain't gonna mean shows are starting.

DMB should use this as a reason to never play WPB in the worst part of the summer, ever again. Move it to May or after the West Coast swing.

I would definitely consider going if they did this. No chance I'm going to Florida late July/Early August
