Thoughts on trading back? I do like getting another 1st rounder but I don't trust Howie at 12 like I do at 6. I just have a terrible feeling that he is going to try to outsmart everyone and pick someone that nobody has going anywhere near 12.

I kinda like it, as much as I wanted Chase.

If Hurts sucks, we have 3 first rounders next year...if Hurts is great, now we can surround him with cheap young talent. Plus we move up 33 spots in the 4th round this year, which is a win

It could turn into a great trade, but we absolutely need an impact player at 12. If Chase or Pitts turns into a super star and we end up with another Dillard or Barnett it's going to look really bad

Absolutely horrible trade all around, bolstered by more ineptitude from the front office.

Missing out on Chase will haunt us for years. The extra first rounder isn’t worth sacrificing an almost sure thing that you can build an offense around. We got burned by passing on Metcalf and Jefferson; add Chase to the list.

Moreover, I don’t even care about picks because Howie can’t draft worth a shit. One Pro Bowler since 2013. One. That is pathetic.

And now they’ve fucked with another QB’s head because someone let it slip that they couldn’t trade up for Wilson so they traded down for picks. Hurts now knows they don’t believe in him (I don’t either, but that’s beside the point). Dude hasn’t even had a full off season to settle into the starting role and he’s already looking over his shoulder.

    So yeah, just awful.

Eh, what's the class look like in 22'? I mean with 3 1sts, you could essentially draft a qb and 2 stud wrs in the same round, I dont think philly did that bad.

Miami and Indy both have good teams. Even if the Eagles are absolutely terrible and have a top 5 pick they use for a QB they aren’t getting two guys who even approach Chase.

while I agree with you, we can't fall back on this in regards to getting more picks.

When it’s been as bad as it has you absolutely can.

I’m still fuming. Wanted Chase so bad. He’s an immediate impact player and we all know we need a spark in the offense. At best we get Smith or Waddle at 12 but I’m not even sure that they’ll be there, or that if they are Howie even wants to go that route. I keep hearing about defense and I want nothing to do with that right now. That’s what these picks next year are for.

And it can’t be overstated how fucked this whole this has to be for Hurts. By all accounts he’s an awesome guy and extremely hard worker but I just don’t think he’s that good; now he has the front office trying to get someone else hanging over his head before his first full year as a starter.

Agreed about the Hurts thing, BUT....if we aren't sure on him, then we need to look at options.

Re: the draft, yeah Howie has fucking sucked lately. But he's the GM, like it or not (I hate it), so we have to hope he does a good job. 11 picks this year, 3 1st rounders next year...this is how we can build. If Hurts turns out to be good then we have a huge stockpile of draft picks to build around him.

And the more I hear about everything, the more it sounds like Lurie is essentially making too many personnel decisions. It's interesting to think about who chose JJAW, Rhaegor, etc

This. It’s just more of a sign of a Howie/Lurie’s ineptitude. There was no reason to draft Hurts in the first place.

Agreed, what's sad is all of us can see it but our front office didn't. I really would like a detailed explanation of what exactly they were thinking.

    Or not.

I'm never disappointed with picking offensive line. Back in the days of the hogs, the Redskins would take an offensive lineman with one of their top 3 picks every year.

Man those teams were good! I’m glad as a fan I was old enough to enjoy the super bowl years (at least the last 2).

Dickerson looks to be Kelce's heir. Great pick. Like the D line pick, too, though I don't know anything about him.

I'm seeing some pretty bad grades for the day 2 picks...

Dickerson scares me.He's a monster but 2 knee surgeries already? ended 3 of his college seasons injured? And he plays completely differently than Kelce, but maybe Kelce's athleticism wont be as import in Siri's offense.

Eagles QBs with 75% comp pct, 3 passing TDs and 0 INT in a game:

    Jalen Hurts (today)
Nick Foles (in his 7 TD game)
    Donovan McNabb (3 times)
    Randall Cunningham (twice)

Not even factoring in his rushing stats, Hurts put up some pretty damn good numbers today. I know the Falcons secondary was trash last year, but it's not like Carson Wentz never played any bad defenses. Hurts looked the part today...

    Re: Philadelphia Eagles

Really impressed with them today. Not overreacting, but they looked well coached out there (aside from penalties). Sirianni looked like he belonged in the job today. The offense looked like it had some creativity to it.
